HOLLYWOOD HILLS (CNS) – The coroner’s office Sunday released the name of a robbery suspect killed during a shootout in the Hollywood Hills that left a security guard critically wounded and two targeted victims hospitalized in stable condition.
Ethan Wilson Jr.,19, was a Los Angeles resident, the coroner’s office said.
The crime occurred about 2:05 a.m. Friday at 1474 Blue Jay Way, said Los Angeles Police Department Officer Joe Todd. Police said the crime may be related to other robberies in the Hollywood area.
The suspects followed a Rolls-Royce occupied by Fashion Nova CEO Richard Saghian, according to TMZ.com.
“We’re told it’s unclear if they were aware Saghian was traveling in the vehicle, or if they only followed it because of the Rolls’ value,” TMZ reported. “Law enforcement sources tell us the suspects ordered two men who were traveling in the Rolls with Richard to the ground and took jewelry. … Richard had already gone inside his home. We’re told Richard’s security came out of the home and that’s when the shootout started.”
According to Fox11, one of the victims is “a business executive who is the friend of the CEO of a popular fashion company,” and investigators believe the suspects had been following the vehicle for some time.
The LAPD said three suspects were in a car, and two of the men — wearing ski masks and armed with handguns — got out, forced two victims onto the ground and took watches and jewelry from them.
During the robbery, an armed security guard exchanged gunfire with the suspects and was shot, police said.
“The security guard sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen and is currently in critical condition at a local hospital,” the LAPD said in a statement early Friday afternoon. “The two robbery victims were also struck by gunfire and are currently in stable condition at a local hospital.”
After the gunfire, the wounded suspects got into their car and were driven from the area, police said. A description of the gray Audi was broadcast, and officers stopped it at Doheny Drive and Santa Monica Boulevard in Beverly Hills.
“Officers discovered that one suspect was shot in the abdomen and was pronounced dead at scene,” the LAPD said. “The second suspect was shot in the ankle and was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.”
The third suspect was not wounded. A firearm was also recovered from inside the suspect vehicle, police said. The names of the surviving suspects were not immediately available.
“Robbery Homicide detectives are investigating the incident, which may be related to other robberies in the Hollywood area,” the LAPD said.

One thing is for sure: The guy who was shot dead will never rob anyone else ever again.
The problem is not the rich cars ppl can drive. The problem is ppl not earning their own money and instead wanting to steal others’. The fact that this isn’t obvious to the commenters here is scary. Leave America if you don’t get this point.
Despite who we are, where we came from, how much money we have or don’t have, we have the right to not be held up at gun point and robbed. Crime is crime and I’m sick of victim blaming it turns society upside down when we blame people for being easy targets. I live in one of the most affluent cities in the world and I watched this happen. None of my neighbors and myself feel safe because it keeps happening and they don’t even describe the suspects to the general public to aide in their capture

YES ❗ A-lot based on prejudice and irrational fears including feelings of helplessness but, also some very legitimate concerns over being a victim of violent crime. A more realistic assessment of the problem and, an awareness of rational solutions can help.

To think those Hollywood hills rich people could of avoided all this trouble if they were taking Public Transit that doesn’t allow guns with plenty of witnesses instead of plowing around in their ostentatious gas guzzling environmental ruining status mobile ❗ If light rail transit and other Public Transit services were greatly extended throughout Hollywood and especially West Hollywood, we could get rid of private automobiles to dramatically increase public safety.🚄

The jewelry should be insured so no loss there, security should “observe and report” then, law enforcement can pick up the kids when they try to pawn the stuff. NO, it didn’t end that way and, likely turned into a deadly ongoing blood feud❗
The insurance company pays up, so they lose. And then WE lose by having to pay higher rates to cover the loss by the insurance company.

If the victims KNEW that their lives were not in danger they probably would have let the property go.

Crime on L.A. County’s Metro Bus and Rail is DOWN dramatically over the past five years but, hysteria over crime is at an all time high. NO “Defunding the Police” might be a great idea because then we can allocate resources in areas that are more effective in reducing crime and injustice.
