Lil Uzi Vert could be in some big trouble.

According to several hip-hop news outlets, a scuffle started when the rapper pulled up to the Dialog Cafe in a Cadillac SUV on Friday around lunchtime.

He got out to confront his former girlfriend, Brittany Byrd, who was having a meeting with rapper SAINt JHN over lunch. Lil Uzi Vert reportedly threw a punch at JHN before attacking Byrd. He punched her several times in the face, according to witnesses, before pointing a gun at her chest and then fleeing.

Byrd was taken to the hospital. Both men reportedly fled the scene before police arrived.

“Uzi has been stalking Brittany since they broke up. Uzi is toxic and mentally and physically abusive,” Byrd’s manager said. “He has been for years.”

UPDATE: The City of West Hollywood released this statement Wednesday regarding the incident:

There have been reports in the media about an alleged assault adjacent to Dialog Cafe on Friday, July 2, 2021. This incident is currently under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department West Hollywood Station. According to the West Hollywood Station, no one is in custody related to this incident at this time. Detectives are putting together all witness statements, video, and evidence collected and will present this information to the District Attorney’s Office requesting that criminal charges be filed. If the District Attorney files charges, then a warrant can be issued for the arrest of the suspect. The City of West Hollywood has a core value of respect and support for people and works to protect the personal safety of constituents and safeguard the community. The City of West Hollywood denounces all incidents of violence and threats to public safety. Randy and other commenters. Understand how people shouldn’t have to deal with domestic and gun violence and wealthy and angry jealous rappers any day of the week! This Doesn’t mean we as residents and patrons of establishments have to just expect and tolerate it. People with criminal intent can just walk away with no repercussions! Criminals just can’t be allowed to stalk people, stab and shoot people and have rage and road rage and shoot guns at people because they feel like it or rob rich and working class and lower income residents alike shopping or walking compelled to give… Read more »

To those of you below who think crimes come with railway links, this is nothing but typical, stupid, selfish NIMBYism. As a reminder, Sherman (WH) was practically started by a railyard, and BH will have two Metro subway stations within three years.

Unless Residents register their complaints with the City, the City will continue to play Politics with our Safety. The revenue stream seemingly more important.

I wonder when the sheriff will say something about the mail theft happening in weho? As of 10:30 last night nobody from the sheriff’s station would talk to a tv news reporter about it.

I agree the metro will be a magnet and attraction for more assaults, more robberies and getaway crimes on foot and metro is the getaway train for thugs and criminals who will even fare evade and jump the turnstiles or the automated electronic bars doors.the sheriffs and metro should have 24 hour patrols because that is exactly what will occur, since this area is the epicenter of crimes of opportunity of not already obvious this past year with violent attacks and armed robberies!

Criminals relying on METRO as a getaway vehicle? Sure. They might as well rely upon passing rickshaws or the powers of teleportation..

I said getaway train a train is not a vehicle as you said, it’s a train! Where people can ride hop on and off fare evade and commit crimes. I am speaking since I have been assaulted on a train and saw it happen in LA and other major cities Tom! And people will continue to do that which they do! Now are you saying teleportation, you are speaking obnoxiously Tom!

There is a new demographic in our population that I have noticed particularly since WeHo opened back up after the lockdown ended, and I can’t help but wonder how it happened. Since 24 Hour Fitness opened back up and I resumed my almost daily attendance there, I have seen only three people from before the lockdown. Of course, there has always been crime here, and it was very often done by people who didn’t live in West Hollywood, but now it appears they do. I’m seeing behavior that is uncommon, in my experience, to WeHo, and is the reason I… Read more »

But the city sponsors tagged aka artists to adorn their buildings so what’s a light post or sign? Fringe benefits?

West Hollywood has put out the invitation for this to happen.
Welcome to the edgier city where anything goes and the sheriff will simply smile you on. All the right bad ingredients. BUT IT MAKES US MONEY the city says.

My friend and I were discussing this exact topic tonight and she said to me that West Hollywood and Beverly Hills has been taken over by thugs committing crimes or settling a score to get revenge. And we the residents have to suffer in this unsavory fate now.
