Rounderbum, the underwear that ‘pads your butt’ will be closing it’s West Hollywood location. A for-lease sign appeared on the premises.
The location at the corner of Santa Monica Blvd at San Vicente overlooks the rainbow crosswalks. It is approximately 900 square feet. The asking price is $11,000 per month and comes with one parking space.
Rounderbum was founded by Jonathan Diersing, and was featured on Season 9 Episode 18 of Shark Tank. Diersing made a deal with Kevin O’Leary for $150k for a 5% stake + a $2 royalty until $300k was paid.
The brand became famous after it’s appearance on the hit tv show. After Kevin O’leary, aka Mr. Wonderful made the deal he exclaimed, “Whose ready for the butt of their dreams?” Diersing sold his interest last month to the factory in Mexico that produces the garments.
We have enjoyed great success in our weho location and met our objectives, the primary being brand awareness. We are enjoying amazing growth globally we invite you to stay in touch with us at Rounderbum.com
And straight to the comments!
Abject Silliness.
No possibility to succeed
Poor business plan
$150k Shark Tank invest an obvious publicity stunt.
Owner apparently took money and ran
Won’t be laughing any time soon
Abject silliness.
Bummer.
I’m sad to see any retail shop close and a business fail but I certainly think that the storefront could be used for something a lot more useful to the community than padded undergarments. I mean how many pairs of padded underwear can an individual own? With rents what they are in this area I was surprised that this business owner thought that they could actually sell enough underwear during any given month to keep their lights on.
Good.
Yes, a blow has been stuck in favor of “truth in advertising”.
Now we can know a real bubble from a helium balloon!
Exactly; I appreciate the effort to attain the desired effect which should be earned with endless squats rather than a purchase in Boys Town.
Coming Soon to Santa Monica and San Vicente: The Little Martini and Pot Shop. (no parking)
And that would probably stay in business successfully longer than any of the retail stores that keep attempting to remain in the location!
I think our community would support a retail shop that was the right fit. But a store just selling underwear? I mean how many pairs can you possibly sell in a month? Give us a bakery, give us a gift shop, give us something other than what we have currently have in our commercial landscape – trinkets and trash, burger joints, booze & pot.
Brick and mortar retail is on life support and in (west) West Hollywood, the rent is simply too high for most shops to last very long. I’m amazed Block Party has had the run that it has and is still going, it’s an obvious exception. The businesses that generate the most are very clearly bars and restaurants. It’s my guess that cannabis lounges, if run correctly, will also thrive in this area.
Coming soon. A scooter store!
