Exclusive new bar Offsunset makes quiet debut

A mysterious new bar appears to have opened on Sunset Blvd.

Offsunset, occupying the space of the original Hyde restaurant, seems secretive by design. According to flaunt.com, the establishment is meant for “friends and family only.” There is no signage and photography is prohibited inside.

The bar did, however, throw a celebrity-filled grand opening last week.

Check out Offsunset’s webpage and Facebook page for now.

This new bar seems to be just for celebrities and their ilk.The drinks are pricier than The Abbey if you can believe it. Wow, chips and dips for $15!! You’re better off at Hi-Tops.

The prohibition on photography is probably a come-on for celebrities and the rich hiders who want to be seen with the right people, but who don’t want to be seen with them in real life.

“Photography is prohibited” meaning no smart phones. Good idea, this should be the norm in every establishment. Not so much for the photography, but for the speaker phones and media viewing with amplified sound as if they’re in their living room.

Great idea. Let’s pursue this as part of an ordinance. People should be able to wean themselves away from their phones/technology while dining for their own sanity and in consideration of the general public.
