Heroin found in women who died mysteriously after night out in WeHo

Two women who were dropped off anonymously at local hospitals after a night out in West Hollywood have both died, their families have reported.

Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola, an aspiring architect, and her friend, Christy Giles, a model and hopeful actress, were drugged against their will while they were out in WeHo, according to family members. Hours later, Giles was dropped off at Southern California Hospital, while Cabrales-Arzola was left at Kaiser Permanente in West L.A.

The women apparently shared an unusual text message 12 hours before they were dropped off. Giles’ mother told ABC 7 that her daughter was dumped at the hospital by men concealing their identities driving a car without license plates — and that video exists of the incident.

A toxicology report said Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola had heroin in her system. Giles’ toxicology report is still pending. The families of both women don’t believe they would have taken the drug voluntarily.

Where in West Hollywood did these girls go and why does the article not say when the headline does? This is not good reporting.

When I think of the years I was single and walking on the wild side, I am grateful to be here to say so. And even more grateful for the BBF who saw me safely home, to folks I met and recall during that 70’/80’s neverending party and the fact that I remember most of it AND that I have lived to know how innocent it now seems compared to the now. Wow.

First, I hope both of these women rest in peace. Second, sorry to say, but parents never know all that their children partake in. That’s just the reality of life. Thirdly, as horrible as this entire tragedy is for these parents, I don’t think they realize how lucky they are that these two women even got taken to the hospital at all after overdosing on heroin. If that in fact, is the case for both of them. I’m guessing the reason why they were both dropped off at different hospitals is maybe because one was overdosing and the other one… Read more »

I’ve done my best as an Event and Night Club EMT/Paramedic in the past but, all the best advise and intervention have an insurmountable obstacle. Natural Selection is NOT very favorable toward recreational drug users sexually attracted to those who have no concern for their well-being❗

So you know these people ingested heroin intentionally? And you also know that they were attracted to the people involved?

Stop making assumptions and painting this as exclusively the victims’ poor judgment. That same thinking allowed Ed Buck to terrorize people in West Hollywood just a short time ago. Predators need to be charged and judged for the harm they cause. It’s not ok to kill people.

Someone is just giving away FREE heroin, REALLY ❓ Mind you that poor judgement on the part of a victim does NOT excuse the predatory behavior of a perpetrator. There is no way the predators are getting away with something this serious and, the time they spend in prison with exceptionally tough people will NOT be easy ❗

If “Giles’ toxicology report is still pending,” why would you title this article “women,” if you are not sure?

You missed Randy’s point. Only one woman was found to have heroin in her system, not both women.
Singular, not plural.

I am sure that the males in the picture believed they had women in their presence. The people who both died are gone at the hands of others. Maybe males, maybe not. When humans are drugged and die as a result, how they identify – or how YOU identify them boils down to dead. Don’t lose sight of 2 people alive and two people deceased; How they “identified” is a moot point when they stopped breathing. My sadness is for their families and for the lives they will. never lead.

Sorry to read about another set of deaths related to drug use.Not known if fentanyl was involved, but I would not be surprised.I guess these women got caught up with the men they were with and not paying attention to what they were ingesting. You got to be careful who you hang with. For both women, RIP.

ABC7 reports, “According to the friend who went home early, the two women met some men while at a party in downtown L.A. and ended up at a West L.A. apartment building.”

West Hollywood and I mean west of La Cenega is a dangerous places in the Los Angeles area. Clubs that are just hungry for the big bucks and draw a collection of patrons you want to avoid at all costs. Soon West Hollywood will be considered one of the most dangerous places in California.

Agreed. Hopefully you can escape an accidental Fentanyl OD and escape with just an STD. But Look on the bright side, the rents will be coming down…

Completely unfair that you single out West Hollywood as a dangerous place when the individuals in danger put themselves in that position by engaging in exceptionally high risk behavior that they have been clearly advised against. CDC analysis of patient opioid prescription data from Athenahealth, shows HIGHER RATES of opioid-related deaths have been recorded in rural areas than in urban areas from 2017 to today. 14 rural counties were among the 15 counties with the highest opioid prescribing rates and, even illegal opioid use. According to a CDC Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR)

Did you read the article? Did you bother to look into the story at all before posting? They don’t yet know what happened to these women or if the drugs were taken for recreational use vs. administered involuntarily. It’s really distasteful to assume that these dead women were at fault. They started their night as a group of three women downtown. One left early and she’s the only one alive. The two found dead also texted each other in distress and ordered an Uber to try to leave together before their communication dead ends. That’s all really sketchy as is… Read more »

More like did you even read my comment ❓ Hardly condoning predatory behavior and, I think you know that❗ Made no judgement on the women in the article, ONLY pointing out that conservative rural America’s problem is significantly worse than West Hollywood’s.
