Follow-home robbery reported near Melrose Place

Two men followed a couple home from a nearby bar and robbed them right outside the apartment on the 800 block of Kings Road, near Melrose Place, the sheriff’s department reported.

The incident occurred at about 2 a.m. Saturday. No injuries were reported, and what was stolen is unknown. Video of the crime has not been released pending the investigation.

The Los Angeles Police Department is currently looking into more than 100 follow-home robberies, according to KCAL CBS 9.

“Clearly we need better patrolling,” neighbor Dave Frank told the station.

Hey Cy; This is what you called the looters: “poor nonviolent shoplifters”
They just robbed 40 guns in a smash and grab, the security camera shows them driving away in two BMW’s! There goes your narrative.

That was in the Garden Grove Ghetto NOT the Great City of West Hollywood and, no one was assaulted so their nonviolent status still holds and they were considerate enough to wear their masks during the pandemic😷. Now if their BMW get away cars are traced to their parents home in beverly hells, this incident is sure to be forgotten❗

As much as wehoville would have you think otherwise with their glowing tributes to the sheriffs, unless they’re called by residents, it’s unlikely they’ll dissuade crime by regular patrols. I’ve said it before, they need to trade in the SUV’s for sneakers and hits the streets. Heck maybe event Segways!

Ok, will give on “tributes” and we’ll just leave it at overly friendly interviews.

$30,000 just raised by resident new Melrose for license plate readers to stem the tide of rampant thieves. Great idea but do they think the thieves will be parking on Melrose or in front of the business they intend to decimate? How about them parking on the side street and walking to and running back from they target? We have a culture of pirates roaming the streets.

None of this would bother me if these criminals would at least just target the White Supremacists clearly lurking among us. At least then we could knock out two birds with one stone while the rest of us could go about our business without being targeted by either sociopathic faction.

The People of Color were intentionally misguided into criminal activity as a diversion keeping them from standing up to their “white supremist” oppressors. Notice how reactionary racists from beverly hells always invite (with underlying intent to undermine unions) white trash supremist thugs to bash on the LGBTQ+ community ❓ In the recent past it was the radical people of color who protected other oppressed groups, been working to rebuild those alliances ❗ ✊🏽

The totally corrupt Woke city council could care less about safety in West Hollywood. We are now considered one of the most dangerous cities in California. We are on the lists.

Fund the police, get a gun and protect yourself from liberal hacks like SHE – Shyne, Horvath and especially Erika Erickson. They are more conceded about the crooks than the victims.

Long prior to city hood, working with the Fairfax Patrol (a well-organized group of Jewish men who patrolled in vars and used CB radios to contact the LAPD) several of us walked the streets at night with string flashlights and baseball bats ,mainly to chase the hustlers back up to Sunset. Following city hood a string WATCH program was instituted to involve residents, to make them aware of what was going on inter neighborhoods and to increase interest in each other’s safety. Then, we had a CERT program to round out resident involvement in the city’s functioning inn the areas… Read more »

Carl perhaps an immediate idea would be if the functioning neighborhood watch groups sponsored an in-person community forum to discuss public safety and invite our Captain. Would anyone come? The City Council had an agenda item on public safety recently but the response from the public was meager. I am not sure if that the public does not think they are heard during these Zoom meetings or if the comments on WeHoville are not representative. My sense of things is that the community DOES believe we have a serious crime issue that only only impacts our personal safety but can… Read more »

We need to start profiling people again and drive this element back to where they belong.

Agree. 💯. It’s not complicated. These people are all of a type and from south central. It’s not discriminatory to point out FACT.

Where is our Director of Public safety in all this? Radio silence from her as usual. I don’t think she is allowed to speak or have an idea under her agreement with the LASD and The City Council. Before someone is murdered in West Hollywood, The Director of Public Safety should resign and/or be replaced by someone who has experience dealing with crime and Public Safety. The Captain of the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station should resign and/or be replaced. He had his chance to prove himself. He has been a huge failure and is now a liability for West Hollywood.… Read more »

So true Eric. Her name is Kristin Cook. I spoke to her over 2 years ago in November 2019 after an incident at Plummer Park in regards to a transient who bullied other patrons and clients of the center and ran them out or intimidated them from using the community rooms where he made it his home base and his own living quarters and personal office space and accosted and swore at others including myself in public spaces and areas of the grounds like he owned the place and caused people to avoid the area or avoid him completely all… Read more »

Perhaps we can learn something from London in the 21st Century where their way cool Progressive Mayor was elected, 90% of the capital’s police officers carry out their daily duties without a gun and, the Publicly Funded National Health Service (NHS) routinely overcomes problems we think are endemic in society❗

Not getting the gist of what you are saying. More or less people are going to be robbed beaten and have to deal with it and like it. So it’s a matter of accepting of getting our asses beaten for no other reason other than that people want to inflict bodily harm and for us to just accept physical or corporal injury because someone feels like beating someone else up. To rob, steal, gay bash, kick someone’s ass and hopefully not get killed. For example the family coming from the Grove for dinner and robbed at gun point and a… Read more »
