law enforcement has never printed all crimes because they say they don’t want to startle the community or look bad because they can’t stop a crime trend.they keep people vulnerable and in the blind by not reporting all crimes that happen in West Hollywood

hy does this report always differ from that printed in the La Brea news which has a far larger audience than the local sheriff report? If the paper is incorrect the sheriff should speak to the editor. This week’s La Brea news paints a picture of a very dangerous city.
From what I am able to gather,Part 1 crimes are crimes against persons such as homicide, assault, robbery, etc. The FBI looks to be the agency who came up with this designation. The FBI comes out with a annual report called the “Uniform Crime Reports” or UCR.Part 1 crimes are covered in there. The sheriff’s department is following this designation to report these local crimes.
Part 1 crimes are murder, manslaughter, sex offenses, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, motor vehicle theft, and arson.
I was looking at the aggravated assault report of December 27th and am amazed how a simple argument over a parking spot can turn into a physical threat.I guess the turmoil of COVID combined with the rush of the holidays are turning people into hidden monsters.Glad sheriff deputies were able to arrest this loose cannon before something serious had happened.
Thank you for posting. Please keep it up. Please explain what Part 1 crimes are. And if you could please confirm that this is not a complete, full list of all crimes committed, just “Part 1” crimes. Thanks
