Participants will also be notified to take note of any other community beautification needs that should be reported to City staff, such as graffiti, bulky items, or other issues. Residents, businesses, neighborhood-watch groups, Advisory Boards and Commissions, and other community members are all encouraged to participate. Block by Block Security Ambassadors and some City staff members will also participate and will be available to respond to questions from community members.

People of all ages are welcome to participate, but children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Participants must adhere to any City-required COVID-19 safety protocols that may be in place at the time of the event (such as social distancing or wearing a mask).

Stopping crime is more important than a virtue signaling clean-up day.

Newsflash: Crime will happen whether there are 90 LASD or 900 stationed in West Hollywood.

I’m sure Urth Caffe would appreciated the bump in business though!

Is this an invitation for residents to become volunteer slaves responsible for cleaning up neighborhoods that ordinary would be the responsibility of property owners with related violations issued by code compliance and/or areas where a normal city would assume responsibility for cleanliness?

No, it is an invitation for citizens to clean up their neighborhoods.

Many cities, towns and communities have neighborhood beautification plans, projects and contests which keep residents regularly in tune with the quality of their surroundings. That would work in Weho instead of weekend trash picking jaunts that have no longevity.

Stop wasting our tax dollars….and you’ll have tons of money to clean up the city. $85K to paint a sidewalk is outrageous.

Could not agree more. People do not need tacky rainbow paintings to recognize respect for all folks. The expense is unjustified.
