10,000 copies will drop this October 2022
The 32-page glossy cover will focus on West Hollywood, people, places, and politics. “We are prepared to expand to 48 or 60 pages,” said Larry Block, WEHOville’s managing director.
It is our aim to show off the culture, nightlife and spirit of West Hollywood, the Sunset Strip, the Design District and our Cannabis businesses. But we also want to tackle the largest issues facing our West Hollywood residents and businesses.
“It was time to take WEHOville to the next step’, and going into the election cycle was the perfect time. We will cover all the major candidates in the local and county races that affect West Hollywood voters.” Some candidates can’t afford direct mail but we will give each a chance to tell their story”
The first year was about mending broken fences, stabilizing the flow of content, and rebuilding the brand. WEHOville in print is going to strengthen those ties with the community we serve and offer a value added product to our advertisers.
Profits from both the online and print versions of WEHOville do not get distributed to any shareholders. The owners get ‘one meal a year’ at the Christmas lunch. All proceeds to Boystown Media are paid out to the staff and contributors and to pay expenses incurred the purchase agreement. The board of directors which include VP Nick Remedio and Secretary David Wood green-lighted the project at our monthly meeting this past May 5th.
WEHOville in print will also be available at many West Hollywood businesses and direct mailed to subscribers. We will be working with the hotels to bring the story of West Hollywood to those who visit and love West Hollywood. The ideas are evolving but we are cash-flow positive and for the first time ever have a backlog of reservations for advertising space. It was time to double down..
I’m expecting us to go 60 pages. The economics of adding each additional page as well as the amount of content expected and within our archives will drive this forward.
It’s a fun project, with a fun team and we are celebrating a fun city.
AMAZING !
We can’t wait to see the Publication. Thank you for such a positive direction. Proud of you and all your efforts.
Very exciting news, congratulations Larry.
How can I order a copy?
Good luck!
Congratulations Larry. You are a real asset to Weho.
A great capstone to a wild ride of a year!
I have to give props to Larry. First, opening a brick and mortar clothing store and now transitioning into print publications in an increasingly digital world.
👏👏👏
Something GOOD to look forward to. Congratulation, Larry.
Now, when are you declaring and getting in the race? Level heads and open hearts are needed in West Hollywood.
Can’t wait to get my hands on a copy .
Do you really think people read actual hard copy magazines and newspapers these days??
I do!
So do thousands of people who read the likes of Variety, The Hollywood Reporter and hundreds of magazines.
We are all sort of the used to the current incarnation of WeHoville but a hard copy coming out on the eve of the November election is something that will be read and will focus the community’s thoughts in contrast to the pile of slick mailers that will be flooding our mailboxes. Larry Block deserves kudos for his strategic thinking.
They do when staying in hotels in a strange city. A print magazine can be a great introduction to the city and its attractions. It’s much easier to flip through a print magazine than to Google various local businesses.
OK, fair enough. Just wanted to ask the question.
Fabulous idea, Larry!
And you’re doing this, has inspired me to work even harder to get an all inclusive print directory of service/agency information into the hands of all Wehoans, so that they can easily access vital information without having to search for it when they are most in need of it!
I love Wehoville!
