ELECTIONS: Horvath gains on Hertzberg; Prang may avoid runoff

The latest vote totals in L.A. County’s primary election show WeHo Councilmember Lindsey Horvath closing the gap between her and state Sen. Bob Hertzberg, the top vote-getter in the race for County Supervisor.

As of Monday evening, Hertzberg’s lead over Horvath stands at 11,331 votes, down from about 15,000 on election night. Horvath now claims 27.75 percent of the votes. Barring a surprise, the two will face each other in the November runoff election.

With 664,957 votes, County Assessor Jeffrey Prang has crossed the threshold to avoid a runoff against second-place finisher Sandy Sun. Prang had not captured 50 percent of ballots counted on election night.

Los Angeles mayoral candidate Karen Bass continued to outpace Rick Caruso. The progressive darling trailed on election night but has since surpassed the real estate developer who spent tens of millions more on the campaign. Bass now has 43 percent of the votes, compared to Caruso’s 35 percent.

Los Angeles City Council will see at least one new face next year: Eunisses Herndandez, a community organizer and first-time candidate who unseated her opponent Gil Cedillo 54 to 45 percent. Progressive candidates Hugo Soto-Martinez and Erin Darling look well-positioned to win in November, while incumbents Bob Blumenfield, Monica Rodriguez and Curren Price handily defeated their upstart opponents.

There’s at least 2 new faces on the LA City Council as Mike Bonin chose not to run again.

To say Erin Darling is “well positioned to win in November” is subjective and not entirety accurate. When last checked, Traci Park was less than 2000 votes behind Darling.

Its how you know the elections are secure and democracy is stable.

It’s over two weeks since election day and the results aren’t confirmed, tabulated, recounted and done and dusted.

Farcical

Brilliant! Throughout Caruso’s development career the thought of affordable housing failed to enter his head once yet it became one of the pinnacles of his superficial campaign. Always was a superficial type of guy according to a law school classmate who mentioned years age that he fudged his bar exam. What a guy!

People complain how horrible things are these days and they keep voting the same way. Very definition of insanity.

Votes aren’t counted! Is Horvath down there counting them? Does anyone trust the government? They can’t even get their act together to count the ballots on time. The County of LA is run like a dead-end sewer. Most of these civil servants couldn’t last one minute in private business. Just look at Erickson. Who would hire him except Planned Parenthood after that woman on the City Council and whose name sounds like a cul-de-sac got him the job? At the time of the election, none of the voters were aware of Lindsey Horvath being anti-Semitic and her attachment to the… Read more »

Would you kindly get off this useless line of prattle? Perhaps you missed the January 6th hearings yesterday and the testimony of Shondra Arshay Moss who diligently worked in the Fulton County Elections Center for the 2020 Election. Her dedication was extremely moving especially when she came under direct attack and challenge by the lies of Donald Trump. Your comments reveal more about your character than the people in your vicious line of sight.

The January 6th presentation by the dreadful Congressman Adam Schiff. Sponsored by the loathsome Nancy Pelosi. We won’t stop anything till Lindsay Horvath is driven into obscurity. Next will be Shyne and John Erickson. They are now facing Woke Trash canceled culture. Live with it.

Votes were not totally counted because we have this thing called “mail in ballots.” They have to arrive by election day, but then it takes days to process. We had those in the presidential election in 2020, as well. This is typical with elections (especially large ones, like this).

‘Mail in ballots’, are ‘baked in cheating’

Pure pantomime to pretend they represent anything other than result rigging

A mail in ballot must confirm to your records on file, your signature must match the original on file, it must be dated and if it was mailed at the deadline it takes human hours to facilitate all these accuracies so there is no such thing as baked in cheating, dead folks voting or the other nonsensical comments invented by Trump & Co. educate yourself away from lies please and watch the testimony given yesterday by members of the Republican party that actually voted FOR Trump.🙄

Seriously, you are sounding like one of Trump’s lieutenants. Are you watching the hearings?
