I’m not a huge fan of the Sherrif’s Department’s handling of crime in West Hollywood, as I don’t think they are patrolling our streets adequately.
Given the number and types of crimes being committed in West Hollywood, we shouldn’t be talking about defunding the Sherrif’s Department, but instead should be talking about replacing the LA Sherrif’s Department with our own West Hollywood Police Department.

Does the city want the time and attention delegated to monitoring incidents regarding cell phone theft and car break-ins caused by negligent bar hoppers and drivers? Let the carry extra insurance to counteract their elementary stupidity. Meanwhile if bar establishments care about their customers as more as the revenue, perhaps they could enhance their own in house security leaving the sheriff deputies to the aftermath on the streets.
More cops on the street, properly directed results in less crime.
