Update: Starbucks has announced that they are permanently closing 16 locations around the US by the end of July, The company issued the following statement. “After careful consideration, we are closing some stores in locations that have experienced a high volume of challenging incidents that make it unsafe to continue to operate. The incidents that workers have reported involve customers and other members of the public using drugs in the stores.

The store closed early this past monday for a staff meeting. The district manager told all the staff that the store would close on July 31st. And cited as the reasons, the “inability to keep employees safe'” Starbucks intends to close a many stores in ‘woke’ cities, – citing crime and homelessness.

The City of West Hollywood City Council recently voted to acquire the Holloway Motel and create a homeless transitional facility just two blocks from the Starbucks at Westmount. Homelessness has been an ongoing problem at the Westmount location and for the Starbuck’s chain as a whole.

In addition, the City of West Hollywood recently passed a new minimum wage ordinance that was set to take effect July 1st. As the deadline approached the employees at the Westmount Starbucks did not receive any update about an application for a waiver or how the new rules would apply to their staff. The effects of the ordinance are still being learned by many employers. Homelessness is an ongoing problem along Santa Monica Blvd.

Starbucks is known for providing exceptional wages and health benefits to its employees.

Beauty Collection, located within the Pavillion’s shopping center also announced their going out of business sale after 12 years this past week. That follows the closures of Chop Stop and Subway and Blue Mercury who closed their doors in the past two weeks leading up to the implementation of the new rules governing employers in the City of West Hollywood.

Everyone who lives on Kings Rd. is very aware of the homely woman who is constantly walking up the Blvd all day to get her Starbucks while harassing residents on the way that annoy her to any extent. It’s a sad situation but police do nothing and mental health services in weho are insufficient. The only difference between the way she is treated and others are treated is that one has a home and many others don’t. The double standard from the sheriffs department is disgusting.

I’m glad this boomer hotspot close down. Clogged traffic, caffeine addicted fifty year olds who just freak out when anything is changed. Traffic has already improved in that area and crime is down significantly. The people weren’t the problem, it’s the customers who were the problem.

If Howard Schultz had advocated for long overdue public toilets in numerous locations in addition to his home turf, this situation would not have escalated. Deal with it when it arrises and is curable, if not it becomes exponentially problematic.

This is the THIRD Starbucks to close in West Hollywood recently.

West Hollywood is NOT the most dangerous place in America. But it does have the highest minimum wage and excessive vacation requirements.

This is Howard Schultz saying NO to West Hollywood and its perverse politicians.

Did Starbucks use the term “woke?” If that is not a quote, it’s inappropriate to use the word in this context. The grammar used in this article is poor in general, so I put little value in the content.

So now WeHoVille.com is joining MAGA’s movement to make “woke” a dirty word? It literally and simply means to acknowledge that our society has systemic racism, bigotry and/or corrupt wealth inequality – and that’s it. If you think “woke” is a dirty word, then I hate to break it to you, but that means it’s because *you’re* dirty. No human being should defend being asleep to that harmful crap. Think about what you’re saying in the future.

It’s the third starbucks in WeHo that’s closed in recent months. Sunset next to saddle ranch, NW corner of Santa Monica Blvd and Fairfax and now NE corner of Santa Monica and Huntley. If they want out of WeHo so bad close all of them.
