Alcoholic Beverage Sales and Outdoor Dining Zone Text Amendments (3.a)
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE SALES: This item proposes two changes related to alcoholic beverage sales at restaurants: 1) it allows the sale of alcohol for takeout in accordance with ABC regulations and State law and 2) it streamlines the hearing process for alcoholic beverage sales for restaurants indoors at all hours and at outdoor dining areas before 11:00 p.m
OUTDOOR DINING PARKING REDUCTION: This is a permanent measure to what was temporarily established through the OUTZones under Urgency Ordinance No. 20-1106U. Staff proposes to allow outdoor dining spaces to operate without additional parking, regardless of square footage. Specifically, it would eliminate parking requirements for all outdoor dining areas in the public-right-of-way (sidewalks and metered parking) and on private property.

NOT one WORD about this historic crime wave.

The OutZones were supposed to be temporary. It’s time to give back the sidewalks to pedestrians and the physically challenged. #TimeOutWestHollywood
Now that LA County is back in the high covid transmission category and mask mandates will be back this month, clearly the outzones are needed for many people.
And of course Mail-in ballots, accompanied by the ENDLESS import of millions of Third World disease carrying illegal aliens to help Democrats STEAL House seats.
Yeah, they really have your “safety” at heart. Their endless open borders have caused the largest importation of drugs from Mexico in our history.
This era of Far Left Open Borders Democrats is stacking up to match their dirty history of Slavery.
Somebody drank the Kool-aid, I see. LOL
Somebody is swimming in the Kool-Aid and living in delusion-land.
*Clearly* indeed!
Fine, then continue them for now but they should not be deemed “permanent.”
EVER! Unless there is a direct payment to taxpayers for the sale of taxpayer owned property.
yup. The city should not be allowed to give away the public right of way.
I just wonder if this proposal has been reviewed by the Disability Advisory Board and the Transportation Commission. It seems like there is a push to pass this give away of public right of way and parking spaces without reasonable public outreach and an opportunity for residents to be heard.
Is the City being reimbursed for the lost of revenue from the parking meters?
yup. Are the handicap supposed to park far away and hoof it over to where they need to go? And what about the wheelchair-bound. As a pedestrian I have a hard enough time making my way through the non-linear “sidewalk” or what’s left of it. Lawsuit coming.
Yes! If nothing else, make them vacate the sidewalks and let them sit in the parking spaces in front of their establishments. Why does “Stache” get to block the sidewalk, but Mickey’s and Revolver and Fiesta do not? And the other side of Santa Monica Blvd is an absolute disaster for pedestrians and anyone with a wheelchair. Give us back our sidewalks! Do not cede public land to private establishments!
yeah, it’s a mess out there. You want to extend outdoor dining. the built a new sidewalk where the parking used to be.
