West Hollywood will receive $285,000 from the L.A. County Regional Park and Open Space District, part of $9 million generated by a parcel tax voters OK’d in 2016.
The county considers WeHo a city with very high park space needs. The city will be able to use the funds on park projects.
“Park equity is our core objective, and the Technical Assistance Program helps even the playing field for park projects in our high and very high need communities,” said County Supervisor Holly Mitchell.
A little girl with a baseball bat appears in the accompanying picture. Unfortunately, West Hollywood lacks any suitable baseball grounds for local youth. There should be more playgrounds available for kids.

Once we enjoyed a very popular softball field at West Hollywood Park. It was even the site of the annual Playboy Playmate v. West Hollywood Pickup Team. (Keep your eye on the ball, please!) I recall chiding John Heilman at Council meeting when he announced that the field would be consumed by the new park design.

WH is no place for children.
Please leave Plummer Park alone!
I hope the City doesn’t waste this money on West Hollywood Park. Too much has been spent on that monstrosity already.
When I was a child, my mother always said,
