Burglars steal 2 guns from Karen Bass’ house

Frontrunner for LA mayor is darling of progressives, police detractors

The search is continuing Sunday for the suspect who allegedly stole two firearms from the home of mayoral candidate Rep. Karen Bass in the Baldwin Vista section of Los Angeles.

“Last night, I came home and discovered that my house had been broken into and burglarized,” Bass, D-Los Angeles, said in a statement issued Saturday afternoon.

“LAPD was called, and I appreciate their assistance. At this time, it appears that only two firearms, despite being safely and securely stored, were stolen. Cash, electronics and other valuables were not. It’s unnerving and, unfortunately, it’s something that far too many Angelenos have faced.”

The suspect in Friday’s burglary was described by the Los Angeles Police Department as a Hispanic man, 5 feet, 9 inches tall and about 200 pounds. He was seen wearing dark clothing, a surgical mask, a blue baseball cap with a white logo and black Asics sneakers.

Anyone with information on this suspect was asked to call Southwest Area Detective Colleen Stout-Ryder at 213-485-7522 or the LAPD’s 24/7 tipline at 877-527-3247. Tipsters can also Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.

This city is bad enough, the last thing we need is Karen Bass as mayor. We need someone who will come down hard on the homeless and sweep them off the streets at any cost. And, get a certain criminal element back under control.

I feel this was a political ploy to position herself as not extremely progressive (by being a gun owner) and a first hand victim of the top issue in this election (crime). Not a single valuable was stolen, but somehow “2 responsibly stored” (hidden and locked away) guns were? Makes zero sense.

Yet the idiot south central residents will believe it. Just keep their EBT and welfare checks rolling.

The last thing you want is her as Mayor of LA. Defund the police time. Like the dreadful SHE! Shyne, Horvath and Erickson! These three incompetent destructive self-promoting political WOKE hacks are ruining West Hollywood.

Karen Bass will not defund the police.
She is not the worst thing that could happen to LA.

If you think about it – which might be difficult, I know – the crime surge happened while the same LASD was (and still is) fully funded.

The only people I want to defund are Shyne and Erickson! So that in 2 years they are political history

They are not fully funded to pre covid levels! The City has done absolutely nothing to enhance security with the crime surge, other than vote to reduce the amount of officers, a political statement, one that is playing with the lives of people who live and work in the City.

Michael, you are YOU and not WE. Please stop making these ludicrous statements and attaching them to the broader populace. It gets very tedious and old.

Mayor Garcetti was and will be the best mayor of LA. Hands down the best democrat run city in the country and I will miss him.

I love the homeless living anywhere and everywhere. The riots were a godsend to our city. And the exorbitant energy costs are just wonderful. Said no one ever.

My my. We have a low bar for defining’ best’.

2 guns that were safe and securely stored, yet nothing else taken? Yep, right, sure. Nice publicity for a “responsible” gun owner.

Is this an Aimee Semple McPherson stunt? This seems really odd. Is she trying to connect with Caruso voters by saying, “I get you, you can tell because I own guns!”

Word on the street is that a lot of people are saying that they’re voting for Bass, but voting for Caruso, especially in the LGBTQ community. People want things to change, and they don’t think Bass can do it. I also think that someone like Gina Viola will try a last minute write in campaign since Bass isn’t an abolitionist.

Um, Democrats saved this country from your Republikkkan maniac Trump, and Democrats saved this planet from congressional Republican’t climate deniers. When it comes to running things well? – you may want to remember how you GQP types tried to ignore Covid and get people to scarf down ivermectin.

Not one, but two guns in the house, great! Maybe investing in an alarm system is next.

Don’t worry Miss Bass. They might have stole your guns but with mail in ballots you’ll be able to steal the election .

One would hope that the lesson learned for you from 2020 was “don’t go to bed at 10pm before 89% of the ballots have been counted” and not “me think elekshun stolin! God-emperer Trump say so!”
