The City of West Hollywood is working with public health officials at the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health in responding to the monkeypox outbreak.
To provide greater capacity, the LA County Public Health Monkeypox Vaccination Pop-Up Clinic in West Hollywood will move from its current location at the West Hollywood Library Community Meeting Room to Great Hall at Plummer Park, located at 7377 Santa Monica Boulevard, effective Monday, September 12, 2022. The Clinic will take place on weekdays, Monday through Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m, and Friday, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. While there may be a limited number of walk-up vaccines available, it is strongly recommended for those seeking a vaccination to register for an appointment in advance using the My Turn Vaccine Appointment Portal provided by the California Department of Public Health at https://myturn.ca.gov/.
The Monkeypox Vaccination Pop-Up Clinic is:
- Free. People who meet eligibility criteria, as listed on the LA County Public Health website, should book an appointment at the LA County Public Health West Hollywood Monkeypox Vaccination Pop-Up Clinic via the My Turn website.
- Limited to available vaccine supplies. Appointments are limited and subject to vaccine availability. Details are subject to change.Appointment registration may temporarily close as supplies are exhausted; community members are advised to continue to check the My Turn website for appointment openings or visit an LA County Department of Public Health walk-up vaccination site. Persons with monkeypox symptoms or infection do not need vaccine. The JYNNEOS vaccine is approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to prevent monkeypox infection. It should not be given to someone who is already infected or has monkeypox symptoms.
LA County Public Health reminds community members: if you think you have monkeypox, first speak to your primary care provider. If you do not have a regular provider, call 2-1-1 for assistance. In addition, people who have developed a rash can access services at LA County Public Health’s Sexual Health Clinics.
