LA Times wonders why Lindsey Horvath ghosted WeHo

The Los Angeles Times on Tuesday published a lengthy piece about outgoing Councilmember Lindsey Horvath’s head-scratching removal of WeHo from her campaign website. The story has little new to offer readers of The Acorn and WEHOville, who have already reported on the controversy.

The Times story — a puff piece disguised as an exposé — fails to mention the glaring conflict of interest the newspaper has with Horvath.

The Times is owned by billionaire mogul Patrick Soon-Shiong. His daughter is Nika Soon-Shiong, the Public Safety Commissioner who came up with the idea of defunding the sheriff. Nika was appointed to the Commission by her friend Lindsey Horvath — who coincidentally (?) received the endorsement of the Los Angeles Times Editorial Board.

Supervisor Sheila Kuehl, whom Horvath is running to replace, warned supporters in an email blast last week that the Times was looking into the story — but that she would “set them straight.”

Kuehl was apparently unsuccessful.

I am so over Horvath. I only wish that when she leaves the WeHo city council she could take Shyne and Erickson with her. 🙏

Read this Wehoville summary and the Times piece. My conclusion is Lindsey Horvath doesn’t stand for anything or anybody. She has spent 9 years working for citizens she has ultimately dismissed. I am confident the bio change is just a shady way to try to win the supervisor seat. She is rutterless and will sway to whatever is key to approval at the moment. Those West Valley voters sure wouldn’t be keen on the unionization brought to the hospitality industry in Weho nor the raise in minimum wage or highest sales tax in the country nor less armed policing. She… Read more »

On Lindsey Horvath’s quest for higher position she set her sights on key “appointments” beginning with John Heilman & Abbe Land then within Gov. Gavin Newsom’s administration, then mayor Garcetti and when that failed cozied up to Supervisor Shiela Kuehl and promised to carry her mantle for her blessing. She apparently turned the earnest charm factor on two other supervisors to gain their support. Very strategic however the problem is she left the City of West Hollywood in the dust being the accomplished veneer personality that never provides strategic answers to issues. A dangerous type we should all recognize by… Read more »

Interestingly there was no LA Times comment section for readers to hammer the writers and the owners family on this awful conflict. Hasn’t it been previously reported that Nika often sits on the editors desk?

The totally dysfunctional and really dying Los Angeles Times has no comments section online. You can send a letter to the editor like it’s 1985. The Times did have comments but they were so negative against the newspaper they had to stop them Again, the El Segundo LA Times has no advertising and is nothing but a mouthpiece for Dr Shlong. As for Horvath it was like reading her political obituary.

Wehoville calls LATimes article “puff piece”

LATimes refers to Wehoville as “gossipy hyper-local blog”

Shade in both directions! Nice chuckles for a Tuesday.

At least it got mentioned in the Times and will draw more attention to the issue.

Shelia Kuehl needs to stop acting like a teenage, lovelorn fool! Wait, maybe that’s all she knows how to do given the years of practice on her one-hit wonder stint on The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis!

What’s really going on between Shelia and her teenage crush Lindsey?

It is also obvious that Nika Soon-Shiong gave Councilmember Lindsey Horvath the heads up on the LA TIMES article and Lindsey went running to Shelia Kuehl.

Shelia, this ain’t TV it’s REAL LIFE! Bye, Felicia!
