Read the WEHOville Voter Guide 2022

In 2021, Publisher Larry Block brought a struggling blog back from the brink, re-inventing it as a platform for residents and small businesses to stand on equal footing with the powerful forces inside City Hall. In the past year alone, our intrepid investigative journalism has been recognized and sourced by global media outlets including TV’s Bill Maher Show, the New York Post, the Daily Mail, and the Los Angeles Times. WEHOville proudly presents our first annual Voter Guide to inform WeHo residents how high the stakes are this Election Day — and how powerful their vote is!

The inaugural WEHOville Voter Guide was mailed to 11,750+ households and a total of 15,000 copies were produced and can be found at locations throughout West Hollywood. You may pick up a copy at BlockParty WeHo, 8853 Santa Monica Blvd, or YMLA, 8594 Santa Monica Blvd. All candidates were given equal opportunity to purchase the page opposite their free page on a first come first serve basis.

To me, taking Fountain down to one lane and removing parking on it is the single most important issue. Followed by a union trying to take over the city where its workers don’t even live. Then crime, then affordable housing. In that order.

Thank you so much for this guide. I just read it from start to finish. Beautifully and clearly presented. Helped me a lot. I love that Duran did not answer the pronoun question. No one cares what pronouns people use. Besides, have we completely forgotten that it is rude to refer to someone in the 3rd person when they are present?

I note that Heilman’s list of “most important” endorsements are: U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin, Richard Bloom, Laura Feldman-Assembly member, L.A. City Controller Ron Galperin, a Santa Monica City College Board member, & the mayor of Santa Monica. Maybe he should inform the voters what relevance these people have to the voters of West Hollywood. What a farce. I see Heilman’s still delusional, still trying to look more important than anyone else. Bless him

How about the fact he was a founding member of the city and continued as a committed public servant for decades with a vision that transformed West Hollywood into a livable, well managed world class city. Is that relevant enough?

If you knew the history of West Hollywood you would know just how relevant John Heilman is.

Ahem…. I didn’t know a Senator from Wisconsin had such close ties to West Hollywood. Or that a member of the Santa Monica Community College Board had an interest in Heilman being on the WeHo CC. Seems that all these phantom figures are totally removed from WeHo voters & didn’t impress voters the 2 times Heilman was voted out. Neither of the 2 above respondents even remotely touched on the point of my post. What do these “endorsements” have to do with the voters of WeHo? You think Sen.Tammy Baldwin REALLY cares if Heilman “wins” or not or that the… Read more »

A true sign of public service is the important things one does when not in the spotlight. What has John Heilman done since he had not been on CC?

What a waste of ink and paper. Yes, it looks nice, but the content is useless. I thought it was going to be a credible and balanced resource. Instead it is one person’s opinion on candidates based mostly on his own biases. Okay we know he hates unions, specifically Unite Here, but is that a reason not to vote for someone? One candidate is given a favorable review because he’s good looking. Is the City Council election a beauty contest? Surely not. Perhaps next time we can have a voter guide for Weho more in line with the one provided… Read more »

Here’s how I hear the message: Vote democrat and enjoy high crime, high inflation, sky high gas prices, high taxes, thousands of bums, and the general high cost of everything. So please, just go vote democrat. That is how I hear it.

That makes no sense… because everyone running IS a Democrat. Just some of them are more traditional Democrats… and others are sleeping wokesters.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS! I only wish the Byers anti-Jewish sentiment was spelled out , but I get it, had to be neutral. Great work.

But you would think that it would be addressed head on elsewhere. Not understanding why the players are tip toeing around her.

This was one of the best pieces of mail I’ve gotten all year. Leo my husband read it to me in his own X rated rendition.
Thank you
