Over 3,800 SoCal Edison customers were without power in West Hollywood on Thursday evening.
Technicians are trying to determine the extent of the damage and are hoping to restore power soon.
The outage was first reported just before 8:10 p.m. and is affecting residents living near Santa Monica Boulevard east of Fairfax Avenue.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said the outage was caused by a blown transformer. It is unclear if the wind played a factor in the outage.
There is no estimated time of restoration.
This used to happen with great frequency. Since the 80s, when I worked on Holloway.
So glad it wasn’t me, although there was flickering. I am just west of Fairfax.
Actually it was West of Fairfax as well. It went out twice around City Hall at 10:30 coming back on at 10:45 then out again at 11:15 and out about 1/2 hour.
Perfect timing.! Communication ceased just when PC was about to hear the ill conceived 8555 Santa Monica Blvd. Project🙄
Sometimes the gods are with us.😊
