About a dozen officers with the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department were sent to deal with a man who refused to come down from the roof of a home Friday near Santa Monica Blvd. and Huntley Drive in West Hollywood.
This major operation also required a small team of firefighters and an EMS officer — but ironically no security ambassadors, who could have been put to use, for example, in managing the crowd of on-lookers or redirecting traffic.
Also absent was any sign of the social services or health-care agencies the city contracts to engage in these types of situations.
Police cruisers, firetrucks and an ambulance clogged Huntley Drive for more than an hour as a Sheriff’s Department helicopter circled overhead. It took four deputies to subdue the suspect, a middle-aged male who is likely homeless. The suspect yelled “Help!” as the deputies restrained him, though he didn’t appear to be in pain.
This was ultimately a rescue mission, and the suspect was taken from the scene calm and unharmed.
Roof top skirmishes might have been looking for a way down the chimney for entrance. Or another readily available entrance point are the louvered glass Jalousie windows that don’t lock. They are invariably installed in laundry rooms and bathrooms, easy to remove the glass louvers and pop right in. Happened to me in my house on Willoughby which was further shielded by a walled courtyard. NOT QUITE.Woke up at 3:00am with a man on my back…………LAPD eventually caught the guy and was prosecuted and sent away for a long time due to a long list of priors. PS, he was… Read more »

Where is WeHoville’s coverage of the WeHo LASD violently arresting a transwoman in WeHo last week?
WeHoville only seems to advance pro-police stories and never focuses on when WeHo deputies are engaging in violence or bad policing.
Looks like there’s a problem on this page p

Do better.
We’re on it 😁
Have reached out to Annie about an interview
When I saw the deputies circling in a chopper I feared the worst. This nutcase distracted the cops from more important things for several hours.
A “nutcase” on someone’s roof is pretty important.
Not compared to somebody flashing a pistol in the abbey 🙁
That was a different day and the Sheriff, BH Police and LAPD responded to that incident within minutes.
Probably best that the ambassadors not stand in the way or interfere with the professionals.
