David Wood has been named the new Board Chairman of the West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.
Wood made the announcement Tuesday afternoon on Facebook.
“So proud/happy/honored to have been elected by my peers as the new Board Chairman of the West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce,” Wood wrote. “Although I rarely take myself seriously, I take this position and the City of West Hollywood very seriously and hope I can be half the Chair as my predecessors, Nick Rimedio and Keith Kaplan.I will take this on with my mentor and dear friend, Chamber Executive Director Genevieve Morrill. Buckle up Gen, here we go.”
He succeeds Nick Rimedio in the position.
Wood, the former Vice Chairman, takes the reins at a crucial time for the WeHo business community as a controversial minimum wage ordinance begins and a new roster of City Councilmembers lines the dais.
He has a long history of volunteering for many local organizations, including Labor Day LA where he served as its President in 1995. He also participated in the California AIDS LifeCycle, serves as the president of his homeowners association and was a founding boardmember of Melrose Action 2021.
How about a bi-weekly post here from the C of C?? We need a closer connection between citizens and local business.
Congratulations to a smart, honest and effective leader. May he find a less combative enemy in the new city council makeup. (Not holding my breath.)
I have known David for almost 30 years, he is a man of great character. he is smart, thoughtful, and a doer. His receiving the vote is a GREAT achievement for the city. Just watch what he will achieve.
A delightful choice!
This is positive news for the West Hollywood Chamber’s many constituents.
David Wood is an honest, capable and informed member of the community who is both business savvy and mindful residents’ concerns. He and Genevieve Morrill will continue to build and strengthen the West Hollywood brand in cooperation with the City and its marketing partners.
Congratulations to the Chamber Member businesses who made this choice!
Good luck to him! We need all the help we can get with this mess of a city we have at the moment.
He has a strange look about him.
You sound jealous of a handsome, successful man with blue eyes and a warm confident smile that says, I am proud of who I am. If that’s the first words out of your mouth, it just shows a bitter envy you have for people you can’t be.
yeah…..that’s it. you nailed it.
Yeah, Joe did nail it !
