A massive fire broke out in a carport in Hollywood on Wednesday night, resulting in the destruction of nine cars. According to authorities, the fire was reported at around 11:30 p.m. on Laurel Canyon near Hollywood Boulevard, causing firefighters to quickly respond to the scene.
Footage shows the intense flames engulfing the carport and the vehicles inside, however, the fire was contained to the carport and did not spread to other areas. Although, it did reach the power lines above it. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
This event follows another carport fire that occurred the previous night, less than a mile away in West Hollywood on Fountain Avenue, where three cars were burned. The connection, if any, between the two fires is currently unclear.
AIR7 HD captured the scene as the fire jumped from the carport to a nearby apartment unit, however, officials reported that the carport caught fire twice but thankfully, nobody was hurt.
I’m only here to talk about the graphic of the cars on fire. Is Monet your new photojournalist?
WTF is the matter with some people?
Exactly. Like those people that stole all of that unemployment money, during Covid. People can be so vile.
$191 billion is a lot of money.
Oh,oh,it looks like there is a firebug out in the neighborhoods setting fires. This reminds me of a similar character several years ago who was setting fires in carports and trash dumpsters.Law enforcement caught that guy,so I hope they catch this one as well.
And one in Beverly Hills in November which knocked out our Spectrum.
There was also the arsonist setting cars on fire in West Hollywood last year. Police should follow up on known arsonists to see if any have been recently released from jail.
We had a serial arsonist torching cars in December 2011 who was hitting a garage almost every night until he was caught in January.
He was mad that his mom was being deported for running a bordello.
Yes, that was awful. Glad they caught him. I remember that well. I couldn’t remember the year. But I remember it being around the holidays.
Yes, it started soon after Christmas 2011. I remember hearing sirens coming down my street at about 3 am and watching out the back door while fire and police vehicles lined the block. The torched car and garage were only two buildings over so we could still smell smoke the next day.
