The Jewish Family Services LA SOVA Community Food & Resource Program in Van Nuys is offering a unique opportunity for individuals to not only give back to their community, but also develop important job skills. The Supported Volunteer Program, held once a week for 10 weeks, provides a supportive environment for participants ages 18 and over with diverse abilities to learn and grow.
Participants will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in job applications, interviewing, basic resume writing, computer skills, and teamwork. These skills are vital in today’s job market and will be valuable assets for future job searches.
In addition to the practical skills, the program is also a part of the JFSLA Chaverim program, which is dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals with diverse abilities. The supportive environment helps participants build confidence and become active members of the community.
For those interested in participating, applications can be obtained by contacting Gerry Dicker, JFSLA Chaverim, at 818-464-3360 or [email protected]. Don’t miss out on this chance to make a difference in your community and develop important job skills.
