A new bar paying homage to its famous Sunset Strip neighbors will open tomorrow in West Hollywood.
The aptly named Bar Next Door, founded by Lawrence Longo and featuring a creative menu by Brynn Smith, aims to provide a unique experience that captures the essence of the area’s cultural history through its cocktail offerings such as “The Cienega” and the “Chateau Marmont” (shown below).
The bar’s setting is an intimate, historic space designed in collaboration with Adam Greco and with contracting assistance from Rebel’s Wood. The interior design combines California chic with the allure of Old Hollywood’s rock ‘n’ roll era. The music system, curated by Uncanned Music, features a vintage reel-to-reel and Marantz amplifiers. The bar offers various seating options, including diner stools, intimate booths, and standing room.
The building itself has an interesting history, as it once housed the Cukor-Lipton Agency, which represented Marilyn Monroe.
Bar Next Door will be open daily from 4 pm to 2 am. For more information and updates, visit barnextdoor.com and follow @barnextdoor_ on social media.
Excellent! I was wondering when this place would open since the story about it here in the past. I like the look of it and I’m looking forward to going there soon.
Looks nice, but I’m not seeing the rock n’ roll aspect. If if I hear some Motley or old VH blaring from the joint, I’ll stop in.
Looks like it will be a success. Right building, right neighborhood, right vibe.
Happy to see a non-DJ, non-clublike bar. Just a neighborhood bar. Wish we had one down on SMB.
