Jewish Family Service LA hosted its 30th Annual Gala at the Skirball Cultural Center on April 26th.

The event honored Nina Tassler with the Susie Forer-Dehrey Spirit of Humanity Award and Sara Cannon with the Anita & Stanley Hirsh Award.

The Gala raised nearly $1.2 million. JFSLA Executive Vice President Susie Forer-Dehrey, who will retire in June, was recognized for her 37 years of service.

Honoree Sara Cannon began volunteering at JFSLA by answering calls to JFS Hope’s domestic violence crisis hotline and helping domestic violence survivors obtain restraining orders at court.

During her tenure as Chair of JFSLA’s Board of Directors, honoree Nina Tassler helped steer the agency through the pandemic, ensuring that JFSLA’s critical services remained available to all who needed them.
