Meet Danielle Halley, current holder of the Miss West Hollywood title.
What part of West Hollywood do you live in?
When I moved cross country to Los Angeles, I wanted to live in an iconic and exciting area that would give me the full experience of the city. I chose to live in the Norma Triangle, a small area nestled between the westside of Santa Monica and Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood. This beautiful neighborhood is easily walkable and offers numerous incredible small businesses, restaurants, and entertainment options. You’ll often find me grabbing a coffee at Dialog, attending shows at the Roxy, or taking strolls with my corgi Rufus to the nearby West Hollywood dog park.
Where did you grow up?
Originally, I was raised in a small town called Central Village, Connecticut. It was a quiet place with a population of about 3,300 and a significant number of farms. In fact, there may have been more cows than people! Growing up in the country allowed me to ride horses and compete in dressage on a national level. However, despite my love for that experience, I always had a desire to live in a major city. After graduating from UConn, I spent a few years in Boston before finally making the decision to move to West Hollywood amidst the pandemic. Despite the challenging timing, I couldn’t be happier with my decision!

Do you have a favorite hotspot in West Hollywood?
West Hollywood offers a plethora of exciting and interesting businesses, making it difficult to pick just one favorite spot. However, if I had to choose, I really enjoy visiting Barney’s Beanery. It’s a casual gastropub that has been a staple in town for nearly 100 years, has appeared in several movies, and serves some of the best BBQ chicken pizza I’ve ever had. The Beanery’s unique decor, games, and incredible atmosphere make it a great place to hang out with friends and family.
What are some of your favorite hobbies or things about West Hollywood?
West Hollywood has a lot to offer, including top-of-the-line restaurants with a wide selection of cuisines, exciting nightlife, and well-maintained facilities and parks. However, my absolute favorite aspect of living here is the vibrant and diverse community. It’s an honor for me to be Miss West Hollywood, representing a town that not only accepts but celebrates love and individuality. West Hollywood embraces and uplifts its residents from all walks of life, communities, and cultures, and I’m grateful to be a part of it.
How were you selected?
So how the Miss CA USA pageant works is they assign the titles based off of location and demand. My first choice was West Hollywood since I’ve been living in the area for the past 3 years and feel the most connected to it. I made sure to apply early, that way I was able to secure the Miss West Hollywood title as it is a pretty popular one!

Congratulations Miss WEHO!
I’m so excited to see Danielle win this thing. she is the best and anyone who can’t see that just needs to look harder! she would be the perfect woman to represent WeHo, and frankly, LA!
Congratulations! Miss WEHO!! I love it. You go girl.
Why is everybody is so upset??!!!! 🤷😄 WEHO isn’t owned by anyone in particular… 😄 What’s the issue??!!
“There She Is” written by the late Bernie Wayne, was for Miss America – not Miss USA. The only thing straight you need to get is your facts!
I can’t believe she beat out our mayor!
So you can buy in and win a title, first come first serve. Kinda like a Trump presidency. He bought in and won (the first time). Sorry, this woman who barely lives here, who loves Barney’s Beanery and has no clue as to West Hollywood past, present or current does not stand for me, straight or gay or trans. That you buy a title and puff 💨 Wehoville gives you credence. What is this trixie going to do with her bought title? What is expected of her?
the girls are assigned their titles when they buy into the contest. literally a girl could live anywhere and represent miss west hollywood… its first come 1st serve with the exception of the local contests for miss malibu miss santa monica etc that the girls pay more money to compete to win that title and then compete at the state level. no girl is turned down to compete as long as they can pay the $1800 fee.
thanks for the input
Brandon should have asked more questions regarding HOW she won the title as well as who are the follow up contestants, whether they were humans or animals. Bottom line, this is a first & because it is the first time…..wayyyyyy more questions NEED to be addressed. I have lived here 20 years and there has never been a Miss West Hollywood before…..what gives? I would have liked to see more interviewing with the city staff or whomever in the city that conjured up this without the input of the community! The Drag community must be furious that they could not… Read more »
Brandon posted the story but I sent the questions. It is my understanding that contestants apply to pagenaut and represent their hometown. Not every individual city has a pageant. We do have questions to ask, and answer, but wanted to follow up with your comment.
First question…….”How did you get this title?”
Are you up for next year’s crown?
Something seems completely off about this thinking is is a Puff PR Piece giving the appearance that the straight community is part of the WeHo picture. Going from horses in Connecticut, competing nationally in dressage from to hanging at Barney’s Beanary is quite the change.

Seeing that gays & lesbians make up just over 40% of WeHo’s population, I’d say that the straight community is also part of WeHo. Ever heard of the Sunset Strip? Very NOT gay and very much a part of WeHo.
Indeed, most of the hotel bed tax [that is what it is] is from Sunset hotels.
Yay! It’s about time! Electing a beautiful real woman to be the queen of West Hollywood is actually showing an acute sense of equality and diversity! Way to go West Hollywood!
Huh? Who, what where? How? Who sponsors Miss West Hollywood? Who voted for her? When did this happen? Why? Puff💨 we have a Miss West Hollywood.
Yeah? “Miss West Hollywood”? According to whom? This just bizarrely dropped from the sky. Was there a formal contest? Where & when? Who were the other “contestants”? This reeks of someone taking the “liberty” of making decisions for the city for which they are not entitled or qualified. I have a feeling that “Miss West Hollywood” was chosen by a judging panel of one. Explanation for this please!
