Mayor Sepi Shyne giving away free therapy sessions under city banner

West Hollywood is promoting a new program that provides 10 free therapy sessions to all residents, but marketing materials make it appear that the program is directly associated with Mayor Sepi Shyne, raising questions from members of the public.

The city is coordinating with Maple Counseling of Los Angeles to offer telehealth or in-person sessions to anyone who lives or works in West Hollywood, including homeless people. The offer is valid “year-round” and those interested are asked to call the center at 310-271-9999 ext. 1 for more information.

A flyer promoting the program frames the service as a personal invitation from the mayor, making no mention of the other four city councilmembers. Shyne is currently running a campaign to succeed U.S. Rep. Adam Schiff in Congress. She is also the owner of owner of Soulillume, a business which provides “energy healing services and manifestation series products which inspire pathways for energy healing, growth and transformation,” according to its website.

“This messaging, in my mind, constitutes an in-kind contribution to her campaign for Congress,” wrote resident Alan Strasburg in an email to the city manager and city attorney.  “No one with their full sense of smell can avoid the stench emanating from this activity.”

This is a nothing burger. So her name is on it, big deal. Maybe it’s because she incited the idea? Not the first council member to put their name on something. Can’t we just look at the positive here? It sounds like a great idea.

Using the city logo or only one council members name is not appropriate. In case you are not familiar with campaign finance or misuse of city dollars it’s not proper. Maybe you are not aware of proper governance.

On her campaign website, she/they wrote this:
“As Mayor, Sepi increased rental assistance…
WeHo has seen a 60% drop in homelessness as a result of Sepi’s urgent actions as Mayor.”

Just wow.
As Mayor, Sepi increased rental assistance in order to keep folks housed. West Hollywood has seen a 60% drop in homelessness as a result of Sepi’s urgent actions as Mayor.

There are no actions “as mayor” other than ceremonial. The titular role of mayor in this city has no unilateral policy powers…NONE! What this candidate is engaged in is political violence, also known as blatant lies. She has no shame, and those who buy the malarkey without question are equally culpable for the results of the dearth of veracity emanating from this purveyor of bullpucky. Not one ounce of shame.

Yes, Alan, I am fully aware.
It is absolutely shameful and the person that I contacted has not responded yet.

SS currently has a video posted on her IG account acknowledging receiving mental health therapy, unclear if possibly at the Maple Center. Given her acknowledged treatment, it does not appear to be working for her benefit.

Was this some type of amateur or blatant quid pro quo?

Mr. Wilson’s contact is there, Ms. Langers is not.

On the WeHo city website, there is no email listing for Manager Wilson or Attorney Langer. Are these available somewhere? WeHo addresses, for official business, not her law firm email.

Thank you.

Sepi Shyne is suffering a public image crisis. Her vindictive bullying of residents went unchecked for too long. Instead of humbling herself Sepi chooses to gaslight us all, promoting mental health therapy while being the reason why we need it in the first place.

Perfect take on the Sepi Shyne Pandemic. It’s something akin to being an arsonist.

Sepi also has a personal “Community Fundraiser” scheduled for tomorrow evening at Beaches apparently attempting to syphon activity off of the Pride events. Some of the co-hosts are quite interesting like Mr. Maggio.

Sepi Shyne’s exponential Jiu Jitsu.

The Maple Center offers a service that the City Social Services Department should have offered if you believe in their services. Inappropriate for Ms. Shyne to appropriate this on her own. Excessive disregard for ethics in nearly ever effort connected with her. Fail.

I’m interested in knowing what the city manager and city attorney will reply, assuming they respond at all.

Um, isn’t there a very active RECALL petition campaign to oust SEPTIC Shyne and get her not only off the City Council. but also prevent her failing up in her gross ambitions for higher office and her egomaniacal, vindictive, selfish, incompetent whirlwind?? Let’s keep that RECALL going, please. It’s not over until it’s over, and over means she is gone!

This could actually help people by giving them an entry to a mental health care option that they may not have know existed. If it was the Mayor’s idea, why not have her name included in the notice.

Because any/all ideas are run through the CC, which votes yea or nay.
United they stand, in favor or against.
She, Ms. Shyne, is the epitome of self-promotion, exhibited from her first day on the Council.

This is deplorable and ads should be amended and replaced immediately.

Sometimes it is hard to disagree with Mr. Strasburg.

Otherwise, what a GREAT idea it is for our city to over this service to every person who lives here.
