The only way to change anything in LA County….is to vote Republican.

It’s a hard fact to get your head around (for some).

Literally 50 feet from my door and I’m usually out around that time walking the dog. First time in my life living in We Ho where I’m legit scared to walk the dog and can’t wait to leave this once great area. When the thieves are now so bold where they do this with no masks a1/4 of a mild from The Sheriffs Station it’s time for me to head out.

Can’t they ID cell phones that were in that area at that time?
What cell phones were within feet of the victim’s cell phone at that exact time?

It’s disgusting that these things are happening with more frequency. MORE SHERIFFS! Stiffer penalties! Why politicians refuse to be stronger against those that commit crimes baffling. If they did away with that bail reform and made punishment more severe, you’d see crime go down again. Criminals will do whatever you let them get away with doing. And right now, our “leaders” are letting them get away with a lot and law abiding citizens are paying the price.

Meanwhile, Sepi and her sycophants point to some bean counter’s raw numbers to conclude that WeHo is safe! She attempts to foist a similarly conclusory naivete on residents with her lie that “as mayor” she has reduced homelessness in West Hollywood by 60% because one night a bunch of bureaucrats walked and counted. Like the distortion of the homeless count that is belied by observation, the myth of safety is debunked by lived experience.

The quote “I don’t feel unsafe in West Hollywood” is going to come back to haunt a couple of the City Council members. With the assault at Craig’s on Melrose all over the news, West Hollywood’s status as a tourist destination is going to be in danger.

West Hollywood may be a “tourist destination” to the unsophisticated but there is no THERE….THERE or HERE. It seems to attract marginal people with the means for a vacation where they think things are hip and happening. Well things are happening alright, not necessarily what people might anticipate such as a gun in one’s face during a sidewalk robbery or assault.
Not one of the City Council members are sophisticated enough to understand this nor are most staff members. They mostly arrived here in what they believed to be a protective bubble in society. Unrealistic.

Their reliance on year-to-year fluctuations completely fails to contextualize the numbers. The violent crime rate in West Hollywood is 5.67 per 1,000 residents, while the California violent crime rate is 4.4 per 1,000 residents, and the national median is 4 per 1,000. The numbers are even worse for property crime with WeHo at 36.61 per 1,000, California at 23.47 per 1,000, and the national median at 19 per 1,000. Total crime index indicates that West Hollywood is safer than 4% of U.S. neighborhoods. People in Arkansas are fond of saying that at least their not as bad as Mississippi on… Read more »

Sepi Shyne is simply repeating the same false and misleading statements made by Lindsey Horvath, her mentor of sorts. Since SS is a coat tailer similar to Horvath, she believes this mirage, if repeated often enough, will stick while she pursues her own upward trajectory. SS clearly lacks originality, credibility and good sense.

The top ten cities with the most retail theft are all in CA. I know this is not retail theft but it all follows from the light on crime policies of progressives. You get what you vote for.

Thank you, I was wrong:
The National Retail Federation notes that three of the top 10 cities for retail crime are in California, with Los Angeles taking the top spot.”

Democrats FAR LEFT loser DA has given crimes like this a full GREEN LIGHT!
It is like this in EVERY major city run by DEMOCRATS! Pure lawlessness, because they are more interested in grossly immature identity politics.
More worried about being a label than someone with character and ethics. It is truly a dark era in America.

Wow, these guys are brazen, committing a robbery a few blocks away from the West Hollywood sheriff station. That is a lot of guns just to rob one guy that they picked out on a Wednesday night. All they got was a wallet and cellular phone.

Did they think they were going to get thousands of dollars from this guy? The Cookies sweater could be traced back to the pot store where they have surveillance cameras. I am sure law enforcement will be looking at that footage to identify the one guy who probably bought it there.Hope these guys are caught.

Between advocating for more pot shops/lounges, “decriminalizing” more drugs and prostitution, our “leaders” (and I use the term loosely) are hell bent on turning this city into a giant sh*t hole…and we are seeing that happen right before our eyes.

In West Hollywood, we saw how men were targeted by serial killer Ed Buck due to their vulnerabilities. We worked to bring attention to the case, but the victims were discredited for their life experiences. Efforts were made to protect sex workers and drug users through bills like AB233, but systemic enabling of powerful abusers hindered progress. The dynamics of status disparity override well-meaning attempts, making it challenging to enact meaningful policies.

you are very mistaken. Victim blame much?
Buck killed Gemmel Moore with a lethal dose of methamphetamine on July 27, 2017, and then he killed Timothy Dean with a lethal dose of methamphetamine on January 7, 2019.
