A new Banana Republic store has opened its doors at 8585 Melrose Ave. in West Hollywood.
The location, previously home to All Saints, features a 3,000-square-foot clothing store for men and women designed with a grand central lounge and an illuminated bar serving margaritas and white wine.
Across the street, Banana Republic plans to open its first boutique solely dedicated to home collections in a 4,400-square-foot space that previously hosted Cartier’s “Clash Unlimited Exhibition” in 2021. This new venture, set to open this September, will be named BR Home.
BR Home will feature a collection of home items such as Moroccan-made rugs, Italian linens and bohemian-styled fringed cushions.
With the addition of the new store, Banana Republic’s presence in the Los Angeles market now extends to nine locations.
Wonderful that the vacant buildings will be filled. BR will bring name recognition, foot traffic and hopefully commerce back to the dead space.
I don’t care what kind of build out they do or what they serve the merchandise itself is still fast fashion that is designed to appeal to the average mall shopper in middle America, especially the men’s wear.
Yikes, so many negative comments. BR is a good company that’s going into two vacant buildings on Melrose. Residents and businesses should be happy when companies set up shop here, there are way too many empty store fronts. This is a good thing.
What great news and it will really dress up that corner. Robertson is finally looking good again.
Our BRs don’t offer margheritas. Only offer high-priced clothing, which frequently go on sale. Luv the claasic black jacket I bought. East Coast
Jeezuz~ don’t they know that this city is failing? And other than the highest minimum wage, we have the “HIGHEST prices for basics, like groceries, in the COUNTRY.”
Banana Republic is a huge company. They can afford WeHo’s prices. It’s small businesses that are suffering. There’s a difference.
Over priced GAP clothing. Good luck with that.
Can you even say “banana republic” any more?
Banana Republic once in its genesis had authentic clothing and items. Now it continues the name but no authenticity and sells Fashion Alley merchandise to the sufficiently unaware while they sip away taking selfies. Is this what Weho considers Creative? Let’s ban that overused and misunderstood adjective.
Margaritas and white wine?! I’m surprise it isn’t a pot lounge with clothes. It looks like it.
