Flower Powerhouse: Arden plans full restaurant alongside new cafe

Arden Restaurant, a new venture from the team behind Paris Tokyo by AZAI Sushi, is set to open at 8289 Santa Monica Boulevard, taking over the space previously occupied by the Conservatory in West Hollywood.

The restaurant will be a companion to the flower-covered Arden Cafe at the former location of Irv’s Burgers on N. Sweetzer Avenue, near other dining establishments like Hamburger Mary’s and Joey’s Restaurant.

Although the restaurant’s Instagram account suggests a September opening, co-owner Jordane Andrieu has not confirmed an official opening date. The Instagram account gives a glimpse into the restaurant’s ambiance, which appears to draw inspiration from Parisian and rustic themes.

A recent post on the brand’s social media cites a line from Shakespeare’s “As You Like It,” hinting at the restaurant’s philosophy of freedom and indulgence. While it’s not clear how closely Arden Restaurant will resemble Paris Tokyo, the latter is known for its lavish atmosphere and specializes in a variety of sushi dishes. Located in Beverly Hills, Paris Tokyo has gained a reputation as a popular spot for celebrities and trendsetters. Arden Restaurant is expected to attract a similar clientele, potentially with a different, perhaps more vintage, atmosphere.

Proposed new city ordinance: Plastic flowers left on the city sidewalks will be shoveled up & hauled away with the rest of the street trash.

I think this place looks cool. I like the flowers. I’m glad something other than a pot shop is replacing Conservatory. Looking forward to trying out the cafe and the restaurant.

Sorry to say this place is an eyesore, a flagrant mess of tackiness. I’m sorry also to see it across from City Hall, it just adds to the mockery that has become “the creative city”. They must have taken a cue from Queen Violet, also on S.M. Blvd. & which I can only walk by while looking the other way. I can’t imagine sitting there and eating without getting sick. They wouldn’t even allow this “stuff” in Tijuana. Is this REEEEALLYYY the direction of “taste” that the creative city is taking?

Queen Violet is AMAZING. Their food is innovative and flavorful. We are lucky to have them in the neighborhood.

West Hollywood increasingly looks like it has been decorated by the high school prom committee. Those awful globe lights lining most of the boulevard do look like they belong in a high school gymnasium. This restaurant looks like Laura Ashley vomited.

I had to laugh at that spot on assessment.

A high school prom committee would never impose such a tired, tacky & totally & distasteful mess upon their ceremony guests. Nor would any respectable restaurant with the slightest degree of class, greet their potential diners with such a startling visual assault on their senses. I don’t think West Hollywood’s piss elegant queens should stand for their dining establishments to attack & insult their tastes in such a demeaning fashion. We’re already becoming a joke as the creative city”. Seriously, places “decorated” like this in masses of faded cheap plastic flowers that are reminiscent of cheap 1950s bathroom wallpaper, can… Read more »

Agree for sure that the “globe lights” are a tad too cheap looking but they do compliment the plastic flowers cropping up (if you’ll pardon the pun) at local eating establishments. I presume you mean the lights strung across the Blvd that look like the lights they string across a used car lot? Afraid WeHo is losing its cache’. One thing no member of this CC has ever been commended for, & that’s for having ‘good taste’.- or delegating it to others.

The City Founding Father’s commitment to Historic Preservation was Irv’s Burgers aka Conservatory and now Arden. The Conservatory had an acceptable look. Then a penchant for monuments such as the Parking Garage/Council Chambers and West Hollywood Park. Which will bear his name? Is West Hollywood trying to replicate Silver Lake and East LA on one hand and Vegas on the other? Total Schizophrenia!
