The West Hollywood municipality in collaboration with Pacific Opera Project offers complimentary theatrical performances in public parks. The opera “Hansel and Gretel” by Engelbert Humperdinck will be showcased on weekends at 4 PM on the following dates: September 9-10, September 16-17, and September 23-24. The opera is Pacific Opera Project’s rendition of the iconic tale by the Brothers Grimm. It narrates the adventure of Hansel and Gretel, two children who find themselves in a magical forest and encounter a sinister witch living in a house made of gingerbread. The music, composed by Engelbert Humperdinck, adds a magical touch to the performance, which has a duration of 75 minutes and will be performed in English.
Jack Zager directs the opera, and the cast includes Milena Gligic, Tiffany Ho, Jared Jones, Christine Li, and Erin Theodorakis. The venue for the event is Kings Road Park, located at 1000 N. Kings Road, West Hollywood, CA 90069. As this is an open-air event, seats will be arranged for attendees.
