The West Hollywood municipality in collaboration with Pacific Opera Project offers complimentary theatrical performances in public parks. The opera “Hansel and Gretel” by Engelbert Humperdinck will be showcased on weekends at 4 PM on the following dates: September 9-10, September 16-17, and September 23-24. Reservations can be made at the specified Eventbrite link.

The opera is Pacific Opera Project’s rendition of the iconic tale by the Brothers Grimm. It narrates the adventure of Hansel and Gretel, two children who find themselves in a magical forest and encounter a sinister witch living in a house made of gingerbread. The music, composed by Engelbert Humperdinck, adds a magical touch to the performance, which has a duration of 75 minutes and will be performed in English.

Jack Zager directs the opera, and the cast includes Milena Gligic, Tiffany Ho, Jared Jones, Christine Li, and Erin Theodorakis. The venue for the event is Kings Road Park, located at 1000 N. Kings Road, West Hollywood, CA 90069. As this is an open-air event, seats will be arranged for attendees.

For parking, options include street parking or the Kings Road Parking Garage situated at 8383 Santa Monica Blvd.

Established in 2011, Pacific Opera Project in Los Angeles aims to make opera accessible, affordable, and enjoyable. Over its 11-season run, the organization has staged almost 50 operas, attracting both first-time attendees and opera aficionados.
