I got to experience Revolver in the ’80s, when it was a.w.e.s.o.m.e! Saw Pete Burns, Elle DeGeneres, Boy George, Gene Anthony Ray, and so many more partying and groovin’ to the awesome tunes/videos…Madonna, Jody Watley, Depeche Mode, Prince, Janet… were always on the playlist…when music was good.

While I’m one of the first to note all of the issues that need to be fixed, these videos are ridiculous and inaccurate. In most cases, these are instances of businesses doing decently with expiring leases from 10 years ago getting a massive increase in rent. They also are in most cases being replaced with someone else. Places will always come and go. I don’t agree with our minimum wage and vacation policies, and the strain they put on our business owners. That said, these videos are just inaccurate spam pieces.
Keep telling yourself that. Nope, there are no issues at all in WeHo. When is the next Mind Meld meeting?
Disagree. Businesses certainly come and go and WeHo has seen a lot of turnover through the years. But there are currently more empty storefronts than I’ve seen in my 25 years living in WeHo.
Um, Sur and Revolver are still very much open.
Over half of those establishments have been replaced with other businesses as well.

Is replacing a failing business with another business your standard for success? Seriously? Brandon, it’s a very worthy video, thanks for posting. I only wish it was longer and had time to show the dozens of other closed businesses in the City. When you see images of the closed businesses, it really makes one wonder why and who is responsible.

There are different categories of “closure”, like temporary, new location, new business format, full closure, moved out of the city, etc. The video wasn’t about any specific business, but rather a general sad trend of many failing businesses within the City. I regret you don’t grasp that. And no, I don’t care if a business is really open, as that wasn’t the point of this video. Try again. Perhaps you should make your own video and show the rest of us how it should be done. Maybe you could title it “A TikTok video no one will see”.

Yes, while not a 100% accurate, it does get across the message that west hollywood is in decline, thanks to the failed policies of the radical bunch we have on the council.
Most of the businesses that are actually closed did so WAY before the current council.
