September 18

Aggravated Assault – Knife (Suspect Arrested)

  • Location: 1100 block N Curson Avenue
  • Date and Time: 09/18/2023 at 06:38 PM
  • Description: A man was walking on the sidewalk when the suspect threw a small rock that hit the victim on his arm. The suspect then pulled out a box cutter, lunged at the victim, and threatened to kill him. The suspect fled the area on foot and was arrested two days later after committing a similar crime.

  • Description: An unknown suspect smashed the rear windshield and removed a luggage bag containing clothing from the trunk.

Aggravated Assault – Other Weapon (Suspect Arrested)

  • Location: 7300 block Santa Monica Blvd
  • Date and Time: 09/20/2023 at 05:00 PM
  • Description: A man and a woman were walking across the street when the suspect approached from behind and hit them on their heads with a bamboo stick. The suspect fled the area on foot and was located and arrested later that same day.

Strong Arm Robbery (Estes)

  • Location: 7100 block Santa Monica Blvd
  • Date and Time: 09/22/2023 at 12:30 PM
  • Description: A man removed alcohol and several cigars from a display area and attempted to leave the store without payment. When confronted by an employee, the suspect picked up glass bottles of alcohol and threw them at the victim. The suspect was allowed to leave the store.

  • Date and Time: 09/22/2023 between 12:15 AM and 01:30 AM
  • Description: An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a bowling bag from the back seat. The suspect also removed a Louis Vuitton duffel bag containing clothing and a laptop computer from the trunk.

  • Description: An unknown suspect removed an iPad from the back seat and a camera from the trunk of the unlocked vehicle.

Strong Arm Robbery

  • Location: 8700 block Beverly Blvd
  • Date and Time: 09/23/2023 at 05:09 PM
  • Description: A man and a woman were walking on the sidewalk when two men approached them from behind and pulled them to the ground. The suspects demanded the male victim’s watch and a struggle ensued, during which the victim was choked, and his watch was pulled from his wrist. The suspects then pulled the female victim’s watch from her wrist. The suspects ran to a vehicle that was parked nearby and fled the area.

It is getting more scary with each pasing day. Too many of these incidents happened during the day. You have to be concerned about your safety after reading something like this. More sheriffs PLEASE !!!
