DEAR WEHO 🔹 Oscar Delgado retired, let’s keep it that way

Good morning,
I am writing you in response to item 6B on tonight’s city council meeting agenda. I have lived in this city for over 25 years. The city I once knew is fading fast. It appears that there is absolutely no boundary when it comes to the nepotism and conflict of interest of city dealings. Even in the wake of the recent incident with the nefarious selection of the city’s new community development director with a panel that consisted of developer representatives, the city continues to push an agenda that serves it’s own nepotistic needs and proves to be a conflict of interest. Item 6B is an agreement to waive the 180-day waiting period to bring back recently retired assistant city manager, Oscar Delgado. Mr. Delgado has not even been retired for 2 months and the city wishes to bring him back, and at an outrageously high rate.  Mr. Delgado has been known to have been responsible for making numerous poor decisions that serve his own, and or certain developer agendas, and has demonstrated he is keen on allowing certain developers to have their way in the city.
I urge you to please STOP the nepotism and conflicts of interest!  Please bring new perspective into the city by hiring well qualified persons from outside this vicious circle of nepotism. We don’t need to keep dating our exes.
6.B. ADOPTION OF A RESOLUTION FOR EXCEPTION TO THE 180-DAY WAIT PERIOD PURSUANT TO GOVERNMENT CODE SECTIONS 7522.56 AND 21224  [J. JIMENEZ]:The City Council will consider adopting a resolution approving exception to the 180-Day Wait Period pursuant to Government Code Sections 7522.56 and 21224 to retain the services of retired Assistant City Manager Oscar Delgado to perform temporary specialized services.RECOMMENDATION: Adopt Resolution No. 23-________ “A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST HOLLYWOOD FOR EXCEPTION TO THE 180-DAY WAIT PERIOD GC SECTION 7522.56 & 21224 FOR OSCAR DELGADO.”

Sincerely,
A very concerned resident.

The city of West Hollywood lives in one of its corrupt most corrupt eras since its founding. Somehow, the egomaniac, self-serving, incompetent, corrupt, arrogant “mean girls” cabal, including Joke Ferret-son, have taken over and completely usurped and undermined the will of the citizens of the people who actually have to live here, seeing derelict storefronts abandoned, a completely unaddressed homeless problem, uncontrolled residential rents, obnoxious scooters because the companies give kickbacks to the city Council members, unstoppable development because they put money in the pockets of various city officials, uncontrolled traffic, perilous lack of pedestrian safety, and just an overall… Read more »

You think Oscar was bad, wait until you get to see the shit show allowed by his boy, Danny Rivas. His favoritism of certain businesses (Beaches,’cough, cough) is beyond. They operate as a nightclub when they are only a restaurant. Ask Rivas what he’s getting out of it.

I’m offended each time I see the criminally overpaid–and always badly dressed–employees at City Hall.

Our current roster of unscrupulous leaders picked up right where their corrupt predecessors left off. Let’s be careful not to invite back the old snakes who are now attempting to ride the wave of their unpopularity.

Bravo Wehoville for publishing these letters to Council, that otherwise would go ignored and unnoticed.

Too late. They were invited, paraded, and promoted within two years and his name is Danny Rivas.
