West Hollywood’s long-awaited new fitness center is hosting Open House days from October 20th to October 24th and giving all WeHo residents free access to the gym from 5 a.m. to midnight. The official Grand Opening will take place over the weekend of October 21st and 22nd, with special events running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. These include live music, a variety of classes, and unique features like a Recovery Lounge and a Glitter Bar. Attendees can also enjoy a selection of refreshments from various food and beverage stations.
According to Colin Thomas, the COO of John Reed Fitness, the new location is exactly what the West Hollywood community has been waiting for. “We’ve created a space that not only offers top-notch fitness facilities but also encourages social interaction. It’s the community hub that West Hollywood deserves,” Thomas said.
The gym spans an impressive 50,000 square feet and offers a wide range of amenities. These include custom Gym80 equipment from Germany, an open-air cardio deck overlooking Santa Monica Boulevard, and various training areas. The design elements are eye-catching, with features like opulent thrones and a Disco Lollipop Garden greeting members as they walk in. The locker rooms are equally luxurious, featuring bold colors and high-end finishes like faux snake leather and velvet benches. A lounge pool and hot tub are also in the works, with an expected opening in the summer of 2024.
Adding to its local appeal, the facility showcases large murals by Los Angeles artists, including graffiti muralists known as @splatterhaus and @dripkingla. Another artist, @akrumwiede, has created a stained-glass effect on a window, offering a glimpse into the gym’s vibrant atmosphere to those passing by.
As part of the Grand Opening celebration, a special pre-opening membership rate of $130 per month is available until October 24th, after which the rates will increase.
