UNITE HERE directs 4,000 hotel workers to walk off the job Wednesday

UNITE HERE Local 11 is preparing for a massive walkout of hotel and hospitality workers on Wednesday.

About 4,000 members of the union are expected to participate in a March to downtown Los Angeles.

While the union has framed the strike as part of a push for fairer wages, hotels say UNITE HERE’s motives are about gaining more control and increasing membership. Workers interviewed by NBC hoped that higher pay would prevent them from having to commute so far to work, but detractors say even the wage bumps UNITE HERE is asking for would not be enough for most of these low-wage workers to afford to rent or own in the costly vicinities of the hotels they work at.

For years the Mafia controlled the Unions. Now we have cartels controlling drug & cannabis distribution with community organizers being supported by the unions as they seek higher office.

What could possibly go wrong?

I will support every hotel that the Unite union says not to support. This union is corrupt and steals money from their members. I hope these hotels bankrupt this union.
