NEW EATS ♨ Potato Chips Deli ♨ Sweets Talk

The northwest corner of Fairfax and Santa Monica Boulevard is starting to bustle again as the rotunda which once housed Starbucks and Subway welcomes two new eateries.

Potato Chips Deli Sandwiches is finally open, and it’s joined by a curious new dessert kiosk called Sweets Talk.

The shop sells flan, cheesecakes, teas and other sweet fare directly from a digital menu. The panoramic front of the shop seems set aside for seating although there were no tables or chairs present earlier this week. The $9 flan I ordered tasted like … a $5 flan.

Let’s turn the entire city into a replica of the historic Horn & Hardart Cafeterias in Manhattan where one put a quarter in a slot and retrieved their choice from behind the small display window. Voila! No complaints about or raises to food servers. With everything disposable, only clean up crew necessary.😃 Next!

Wow, both look great. Good to see this corner rebound.

You’re going to see more automated order/pay at restaurants due to the increase in minimum wage, thus eliminating low skill jobs in the city.
