The reported assault took place on South Grand Avenue near the 3600 block, close to 3 a.m. on a Wednesday.

It is stated that after using Lyft to travel back to her residence near the University Park Campus, the driver allegedly assaulted her in his vehicle.

The driver is identified as a Black individual, aged between 25 and 35, with black hair, slender physique, and a black beard.

The university’s Department of Public Safety encourages those with any knowledge of this incident to reach out at 213-740-6000.

Lyft has records of which one of their drivers picked up this USC Student and should FIRE him if there is any truth to this matter. This student paid for a ride and, even if she was completely obnoxious he is NOT justified to haul off and smack her one❗

Not sure why this is relevant. We don’t even know if her ride originated in Weho. This is really a stretch.

It’s still not relevant.

Why isn’t it relevant? It’s news about crime. I want to know if Lyft is doing anything to protect passengers from this type of behavior. A male Lyft driver picked up a woman in West Hollywood and then assaulted her. Maybe not relevant to you, but it is relevant for women who take Lyfts.

Thank you. The crime happened in Downtown LA, not Weho, so it’s not a Weho crime report. Headline should say “After leaving the Weho Halloween Carnaval, USC student assaulted near campus in downtown LA.’ Is this site going to report on every single crime in LA because the victim happened to visit a location in Weho at some point before the crime occurred? You’re correct it’s a stretch and implies the crime occurred within Weho.

Exactly! Also, the “report” seems more like gossip than news; no real details, plus the fact that the crime did not happen in WeHo. Thank you!
