A car smashed into the Jones Hollywood Cafe on the corner of Santa Monica Blvd. and Formosa on Tuesday night.
Photos shared with WEHOonline by WeHo Unfiltered show a dark Chevy Impala with its front hood covered with bricks from the building. A fallen traffic light lies on the ground nearby. The cafe’s facade was left in tatters by the collision, its east-facing window and corner door crushed by the impact.
Multiple fire trucks and sheriff’s deputies were on hand but no EMS vehicles were seen, suggesting no one was injured.
WEHOonline has reached out to authorities for details.
Another tragic story about a dangerous fossil fuel powered vehicle causing extensive damage, endangering the lives of pedestrians and, ruining the environment. All this avoidable if Santa Monica Blvd were limited to Public Transit🚈 and, Electric Scooters🛵❗
This isn’t an issue of electric or internal combustion vehicles. Allan Ruck lost control of his Rivian SUV and crashed into a pizza parlor on La Brea & Hollywood just the other week. Distracted, impatient & reckless people behind the wheel of any vehicle is the problem.
Well there would of been far less damage if he were on an Electric Scooter🛵 and none if he were taking Public Transit🚈 but, we probably need to get the dangerous fossil fuel powered vehicle banned from Santa Monica Blvd before moving on the the rest of West Hollywood. Now if you can beat me to the punch and, get the ban in place first in all of West Hollywood, I’ll celebrate your victory🎉❗
