The Unique Woman’s Coalition, led by Chela Demuir, is excited to announce the 23rd annual TransGiving Dinner. This event is scheduled to take place at The Connie Norman Transgender Empowerment Center on Sunday, November 19th, from 4 PM to 7 PM.
TransGiving Dinner, a long-standing tradition in the community, provides a full-course traditional holiday dinner in a safe and welcoming environment. Aimed primarily at trans-identified, non-binary, and gender-expansive individuals, the event serves as a haven during the holiday season—a time when many from these communities may feel a heightened sense of missing their families.
Marking its 23rd anniversary, the 2023 TransGiving Dinner promises an evening of joy and community bonding. Attendees must RSVP via the event’s website to secure their spot for the dinner and post-dinner festivities, which include dancing and entertainment. The evening is not just about celebrations but also offers valuable resources and an opportunity to connect with others in a supportive atmosphere.

The Unique Woman’s Coalition, founded in 1997 by Chela Demuir, stands as the first Los Angeles-based organization focused on the needs and empowerment of Transgender people of color. The UWC has been committed to creating safe spaces and amplifying the voices of the Black Trans community, thereby enhancing the overall quality of life.
This year’s TransGiving Dinner is supported generously by FLUX and the City of West Hollywood, reflecting the broader community’s acknowledgment and support of the Transgender and Non-Binary communities.
