Project Angel Food rallied an impressive gathering of celebrities and volunteers on Thanksgiving Day to prepare and distribute 2,000 traditional turkey meals, contributing to the over 5,000 meals delivered throughout the week of Thanksgiving.

The event was marked by a spirit of community and generosity. Melissa Rivers, who is engaged to lawyer Steve Mitchel, was present with her son, Cooper Endicott. Rivers discussed her flexible approach to wedding planning, emphasizing the lack of rush in their preparations.

Amanda Kloots, the host of “The Talk,” participated in the event along with Zach Braff and her son, Elvis. She expressed her strong connection with Project Angel Food and the importance of teaching children about helping others.

Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin, who have made it a tradition to volunteer at Project Angel Food on Thanksgiving, were also present. They stressed the importance of providing for those in need, particularly on holidays like Thanksgiving.

Actor and model Sam Asghari, experiencing his first Thanksgiving following his divorce, focused on the significance of using one’s influence to assist others, rather than discussing his personal life.

Charo and Kat Von D, an unlikely duo, shared their experiences and motivations for volunteering with Project Angel Food, highlighting their unique bond and commitment to the cause.

Other celebrities, such as Amy Yasbeck, Em Beihold, Eve Mauro, and many more, also participated in the day’s activities. Richard Ayoub, the CEO of Project Angel Food, expressed his deep appreciation for the volunteers’ and celebrities’ dedication to the organization’s mission.

The event featured a “drive-by” pickup system for meal distribution, with the menu including traditional Thanksgiving fare like roasted turkey and pumpkin cheesecake, along with vegetarian options.

Beyond the work at Project Angel Food, additional efforts were made to support those in need. In collaboration with PATH, the organization provided 500 meals to people affected by homelessness. Additionally, actress Joely Fisher sponsored a “Friendsgiving” event for union members impacted by the SAG/AFTRA strike.

Project Angel Food, founded in 1989 by Marianne Williamson, continues its vital work of providing daily meals to over 2,500 critically ill individuals in Los Angeles, totaling more than 1.5 million meals annually. The organization’s efforts extend beyond just meal delivery, addressing the complex challenges faced by its clients, including poverty, aging, and social isolation.
