The Cocktail Collection hosted a unique cocktail class Thursday night at the Kimpton La Peer Hotel, featuring master bartender Sarah Mengoni and artist Katie Bright. The event was organized to celebrate the launch of their new book, “Once Upon a Cocktail,” which highlights the historic and diverse drinking culture of West Hollywood. The hands-on class offered guests an immersive experience in crafting classic cocktails.
Participants had the opportunity to learn the art of making three different types of cocktails: one built, one shaken, and one stirred. A highlight of the event was the personalized Whiskey Sour, where guests could fashion a drink to their own taste under the guidance of Mengoni. The class was designed not only to teach the techniques of cocktail making but also to boost confidence in creating these drinks at home.
The evening was not just about cocktail making; it also featured lively storytelling, adding an educational and entertaining aspect to the experience. Guests enjoyed light bites provided by Ladyhawk by Charbel Hayek and Melissa’s Produce, enhancing the overall culinary experience.
The event included a silent bottle auction, with the evening’s featured spirits up for grabs. The proceeds from the auction were directed to benefit the nonprofit Center for Culinary Culture—Home of The Cocktail Collection & Eats Drinks TV. This initiative underlined the event’s commitment to supporting the culinary arts and culture.
How about promoting the idea of healthy drink alternatives to alcohol❓
i understand, but this is promoting a book. Enjoy it as it is.
