Biden rakes in $15 million during L.A. visit

During a three-day visit to Los Angeles, President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden attended six private fundraising events, significantly boosting his campaign funds by $15 million. This achievement was highlighted by a source close to Jeffrey Katzenberg, co-chair of DreamWorks and the Biden campaign. Among the attendees were notable figures such as Barbra Streisand, Steven Spielberg, Shonda Rhimes, Rob Reiner, and David Geffen.

In addition to fundraising activities, the Bidens also paid a visit to Norman Lear’s home to sit in shiva. A notable event was hosted by James Costos, former U.S. ambassador to Spain, and his partner designer Michael Smith at their Los Angeles residence. This event saw the participation of President and First Lady Biden, Speaker Emeritus Nancy Pelosi, and others. Photos from this fundraiser were shared by Costos.

Jeffrey Katzenberg of DreamWorks, who is closely involved with the Biden campaign, mentioned to Deadline Hollywood that this fundraising total is unprecedented for a single visit to Los Angeles by any president or presidential candidate. He compared it to a 2012 visit by Barack Obama, which included a fundraiser at George Clooney’s home and also raised close to $15 million.

Over the weekend, the Bidens engaged with high-profile donors and headlined a large Hollywood-centric fundraiser. Prominent California Democrats such as Speaker Emeritus Nancy Pelosi, Governor Gavin Newsom, Rep. Adam Schiff, and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass were in attendance.

In his speeches during these events, President Biden focused his criticism on Donald Trump, the leading contender for the Republican presidential nomination. Biden rebuked Trump for his stance on political violence and his refusal to accept the 2020 election results. He humorously remarked about Trump’s absence at his inauguration and speculated on his attendance at future inaugurations.

The visit came at a crucial time, following the end of the Hollywood actors’ strike, allowing Biden to garner significant campaign funds ahead of the year-end deadline. His campaign aims to raise approximately $67 million in the fourth quarter.

Biden’s presence in Los Angeles was also marked by protests, with a group of pro-Palestinian demonstrators trailing him at several events. These protesters have criticized the president for his policies, accusing him of supporting genocide. Biden’s visit concluded with him and the First Lady departing on Air Force One.

They also visited the Museum of Tolerance. Pico Blvd and the surrounding side streets were all blocked off.

Always grateful to see Biden and Democrats building stronger campaign war chests than the GOP. Donald Trump is the #1 existential threat to our country, and I won’t rest until he is imprisoned or passes away

The fact that none of these events were open to the public exposes who Biden really works for. It’s NOT US.

It was open to the public as long as you paid $50,000. All political fund raisers are the same.

I love Democrat OPEN BORDERS turning the border over to Drug Cartel, (except when they turn up in the tens of thousands to live in bs “Sanctuary” cities like NYC, Chicago, D.C. Phil. And it is fabulous that Far Left Lunatics have rammed No Oil down the throats of Americans to the tune of est. loss of $11,000 in spending (massive inflation) since Joe took office., And of course using Hunter as a frontman for Chinese, Russian AND Ukraine money (US tax dollars really, laundered through Ukraine). Don’t forget the Banana Republic fake charges against your leading political rival. Can’t hide… Read more »

It’s nice that people are giving him money but it still doesn’t solve his age problem. The democrats need to find someone younger to be the nominee. We should not be nominating someone 81 years old for a second term. It’s ridiculous. There are tons of brilliant young democrats out there who would make an incredible president. This is just politics at its worst. If Trump wins again these people are all responsible for it.

Picking someone else. That is my brilliant suggestion. I have nothing against Joe Biden but it’s time for him to retire. Give younger people a chance. Like I said previously, if we end up with Donald Trump again the democrats have no-one but themselves to blame.

If voters don’t know these younger candidates you speak of, they won’t vote for them, and Trump will automatically win. Was Norman Lear too old to still be producing great television? No, he wasn’t!

YES he has problems as a candidate that no amount of money can fix especially his career of riding on the historical democratic party’s failed strategy of being “almost like a republican.” Not only does this upset oppressed minority groups to the point of not really coming out in significant numbers to vote but, just being “acceptable” to right-wingers will NOT get their vote when they have an aggressive far right extremist’s dream of a candidate running against him.

The far right-wing extremists have taken over the republican party and forcing policy (NOT all power is in government) that makes the vast majority of Americans very uncomfortable.

Sorry, but the country prefers the middle and reasonable policies. If young progressives don’t vote then they will get what they deserve which will be Donald Trump. Many of those Trump supporters were former democrats.

Being “middle and reasonable” in light of violent oppression is the classic cover for a bigot. YES young Progressives with many old people with much to lose, need to engage in strategic voting even when given bad choices. Also they need political activism to pressure those in power well after elections. Recall that the most progressive policy in the Civil Rights era came from a very conservative (even admitted racist) establishment due to political activist pressure.

Fine, support far left candidates and see what it gets you. We have a divided country and unfortunately that means compromising by everyone. We live in our little bubble here in WEHO. It’s not like this in many parts of the country. Just don’t complain when Donald Trump becomes President again because that is exactly what will happen. It happened in 2016 and it could very easily happen again. There are a lot of moderate republicans looking for someone else to support even if that person happens to be a democrat. They don’t want Donald Trump either but if the… Read more »
