TimeOut Los Angeles released its ranked list of West Hollywood’s 26 best restaurants on Friday.
“West Hollywood is a little bit of a clusterfuck,” TimeOut writes, “and while this makes parking terrible, especially on weekends, this dense locale is also home to a few celebrity nightlife hotspots actually worth trying, red-sauce Italian joints for days and a slew of restaurants perfect for date night and boozy brunch”
WeHo’s luxury hotel restaurants topped the list, with Ardor (The Edition) and Merois (Pendry) taking the top two spots, and Ladyhawk (La Peer) coming in at #7.
Vintage WeHo favorites like Tail o’ the Pup (#17), Irv’s Burgers (#14) and Jones Hollywood (#9) made their way onto the list alongside classics like Dan Tana’s (#5).
Sushi and seafood spots also made a splash, including Sushi Ginza Onodera (#3), Catch LA (#8) and Connie & Ted’s (#26).
Up-and-comers like Saltie Girl (#6) and The Butcher, The Baker, The Cappuccino Maker (#25) earned spots next to some refreshingly unusual choices such as Russian cuisine hotspot Traktir (#24) and the hip cafe Strings of Life (#19).
A few restaurants outside of city limits snuck onto the list, including Crossroads (#15) and Madre (#13).
Notable snubs include Bottega Louie, E.P. & L.P., Norah, Tesse, Charcoal, Zinque, as well as celebrity hangouts Cecconi’s, Craig’s and Sushi Park.
No list of our own would have been complete without Ggiata, The Butcher’s Daughter and Breakfast Republic.

These articles are usually written by content farmers who have never stepped foot in these restaurants. Thus, the list is meaningless. Also, the sites/magazines fluff their advertisers on the list, too. If you want a decent WeHo restaurant, try the Rainbow, which has been around since 1972.
Impressive list! I would say many would rank top in the state and country. Pretty amazing a small city like WEHO has such a great array of top quality restaurants.
I think JAR is also not in West Hollywood. The list is very subjective – just look at the snubs.

People were happy to welcome “Tale O’ the Pup” to West Hollywood but it misses the mark in several ways & is very disappointing. The prices are too high for what they serve, the cheeseburgers are too small & the FF are not hot & crisp or even tasty. I, & numerous friends & neighbors I know, have “tried it” & did not go back as we expected we would do. I can see that they are never busy & that speaks to itself. But I’d expect that with a very popular & busy joint next door that serves the… Read more »
