WEHO CRIME REPORT 🚔 Week 3, 2024

Here are the notable crimes in West Hollywood reported from Jan. 15-21, 2024, investigated by the L.A. County Sheriff Department’s WeHo station.

This week, a woman was punched in the face by a stranger while she was walking her dog on the afternoon of Jan. 16 on Curson Avenue. The suspect then started swinging a skateboard at the woman and a witness who stopped to help her. He was found and arrested by LASD deputies.

January 15th

Grand Theft

  • Location: 9000 block Phyllis Avenue
  • Date and Time: 01/15/2024 @ 0800-0900
  • Description: An unknown suspect ransacked the interior and removed three pairs of shoes and a baseball glove from the trunk of the unlocked vehicle.

  • Location: 8800 block Sunset Blvd
  • Date and Time: 01/15/2024 @ 1246
  • Description: A man ransacked the interior and removed a laptop computer, luggage containing miscellaneous clothing, and a Louis Vuitton bag from the trunk of the unlocked vehicle.

  • Location: 600 block La Cienega Blvd
  • Date and Time: 01/15/2024 @ 0631
  • Description: A man jumped over a side wall and then used an unlocked door to gain access and removed two bottles of whiskey.

  • Location: 1300 block N Harper Avenue
  • Date and Time: 01/15/2024 – 01/20/2024
  • Description: An unknown suspect gained access to the secure sub parking garage of the apartment complex and removed two unsecured paintings from a storage area.

Vehicle Burglary

  • Location: 1000 block Martel Avenue
  • Date and Time: 01/15/2024 @ 2330-0855
  • Description: An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a vacuum from the back seat.

January 16th

Aggravated Assault – Other Weapon (two victims)

  • Location: 900 block Curson Avenue
  • Date and Time: 01/16/2024 @ 1420
  • Description: A woman was walking her dog when the suspect approached and punched her in the face without provocation. The suspect then raised a skateboard into the air and swung it at the victim. The suspect also swung the skateboard at a witness that stopped to help the victim. The suspect was arrested by responding deputies.

Other Burglary

  • Location: 7700 block Santa Monica Blvd
  • Date and Time: 01/17/2024 @ 0402
  • Description: Three men smashed the front glass door to gain access and then used a saw to cut the metal security gate open and gain access to miscellaneous pharmaceuticals.

January 18th

Aggravated Assault – Other Weapon

  • Location: Genesee Avenue / Norton Avenue
  • Date and Time: 01/18/2024 @ 1230
  • Description: A man pointed and simulated firing a paintball gun at the victim as she was driving past his parked vehicle. The victim fled the area because she believed the gun was real. The suspect was arrested by responding deputies.

  • Location: 8500 block Melrose Avenue
  • Date and Time: 01/18/2024 @ 1225
  • Description: A man and a woman filled trash bags with women’s leggings and left the store without payment. Both suspects were arrested by responding deputies.

  • Location: 1000 block Edinburgh Avenue
  • Date and Time: 01/18/2024 @ 2330-0030
  • Description: An unknown suspect smashed the front passenger’s side window and removed a tote bag containing a laptop computer from the front floorboard.

Grand Theft

  • Location: 7100 block Santa Monica Blvd
  • Date and Time: 01/19/2024 @ 1455
  • Description: A man removed miscellaneous items and left the store without payment.

Aggravated Assault – Other Weapon

  • Location: 8800 block Santa Monica Blvd
  • Date and Time: 01/20/2024 @ 0133
  • Description: A man hit another man on his head with a glass cup during an argument that took place inside the club.

Grand Theft

  • Location: 1200 block Fairfax Avenue
  • Date and Time: 01/20/2024 @ 2250-2350
  • Description: An unknown suspect cut the lock and removed two bicycles from the driveway of the residence.

January 21st

Grand Theft

  • Location: 600 block N Robertson Blvd
  • Date and Time: 01/21/2024 @ 0000-0030
  • Description: An unknown suspect removed a cell phone from the victim’s purse while inside the club.
  • Incident number: #00361

 

Other Burglary

  • Location: 1000 block N Kings Road
  • Date and Time: 01/21/2024 @ 0359
  • Description: Two men used an unlocked front door to gain access to the apartment complex and searched the mailroom for unsecured packages. Both suspects then went to the sub parking garage and forced entry to a storage locker and removed miscellaneous property.

Armed Robbery

  • Location: 7300 block Santa Monica Blvd
  • Date and Time: 01/21/2024 @ 2000
  • Description: The victim was walking NB on Curson Avenue when a vehicle stopped near his location and asked to borrow his phone. As the victim approached the car, the suspect pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded his property and he complied.

Ya. We don’t need Sheriff foot patrols and car patrols in our neighborhoods, the unarmed look-away ambassadors are doing a bang up job.
