Anime version of McDonald’s coming to life in WeHo

McDonald’s is plucking its fictional doppelganger from the realm of anime and popping it into a location in West Hollywood.

The popup, scheduled for March 9 and 10, will create a real-life version of “WcDonald’s,” the mock fast food chain featured in various forms of manga, anime, and other entertainment since its initial appearance in the 1983 anime adaptation of “Cat’s Eye.” This event will transform a space across from the historical Tail o’ the Pup hot dog stand, utilizing 360-degree projection mapping and immersive tabletop projections to create a multi-sensory experience reflective of the WcDonald’s anime universe.

The promotional campaign, a collaboration with illustrator Acky Bright and animation studio Studio Pierrot, also includes a series of digital manga, and anime shorts designed to bring the concept of WcDonald’s from anime to reality.

Reservations for this dining experience are avaiable through OpenTable under “WcDonald’s Immersive Dining Experience.”

This is the most bizarre “story” I’ve ever seen on here. Like I mean, crazy man. I mean, like what?

Wow! Can’t wait to go! (EYE ROLL). Is the average new “young adult” generation always going to degress into sinking lower than where we are at now? How about hitting up a library instead? Just a thought.
