The family of a man found unconscious with a severe head injury in West Hollywood is desperately seeking information about what could have happened to him.

53-year-old Albert Vasquez is currently hospitalized, having been discovered unresponsive with a severe head injury in West Hollywood on the evening of Friday, April 5.

“The surgery he underwent was critical; they had to remove part of his skull to relieve pressure from brain swelling,” explained Jimenez.

Jimenez mentioned her brother, a veteran hair stylist, recalled being attacked but could not recollect further details.

Albert left Heart WeHo and was en route to Gym Sportsbar around 11 p.m. that night, before he was found injured.

There are 2 surveillance cameras in that alley. 1 on the corner of the bank and the other in the center of the alley( actually 3). You can see them clearly on google maps.

I would be all for more audio capable high def cams throughout Weho to include license plate readers.

Hope investigators find clues on those 2 alley cams…. I would think those would be active and running in the event that was some sort of a bank robbery and other crimes such as this incident.

This parking lot is staffed with an attendant until, I would guess, at least bar closing and is very exposed. No witnesses or footage that would offer some evidence is hard to believe.

I was trained to assist Weho LASD in a 501c3 long ago in 1997 called Streetcats. We were donated trained Interventionists. We prevented or assisted victims after hate crime bashings that took place and we were everywhere in front of clubs. I had to hold violators by handcuffs till Weho LASD arrived. As past donated yet trained Interventionist, the city tax payer paid street Ambassadors are unfortunately not the right level. They are not trained to handle serious incidents, get paramedics fast etc. This would be an example why for 30 years I been asking City leaders to provide a… Read more »

I wish him a full and fast recovery. How scary for him and his family. Please, if you are reading this, don’t walk alone at night. It’s not safe anymore.

Seems like a pretty obvious gay bashing. Keep Albert in our prayers.

Move fast to notify LASD assigned detective please as they will have to go to judge to order for their subpoena of footage asap and they will notify prosecutor in their imvestigation if there is footage proof so make sure you in writing notify anything you know to Weho LASD assigned detective asap. I’m a legally trained certified court advocate through Apprenticeship past under imvestigator and an attorney and they must immediately court order subpoena if you suspect anything from club. If that footage is destroyed, it is a felony of Tampering with Evidence. Move fast to notify LASD Detective… Read more »
