On Saturday, April 27, 2024, Fairfax High School in Los Angeles will host the 7th Annual Drag Queen World Series, a flamboyant, fun-filled softball game that promises not just laughs but also a meaningful impact on the community. The playful competition pits the Los Angeles Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence against the West Hollywood Cheerleaders in a unique event that combines sports, entertainment, and philanthropy.
Organized by the Life Group LA, in partnership with the Fairfax High School Alumni Association and the school’s GSA Youth Club, this year’s series aligns with the centennial celebrations of Fairfax High School. The event will benefit three non-profit programs dedicated to supporting individuals affected by HIV/AIDS and promoting education and empowerment.
Attendees can expect a star-studded affair with appearances by Jai Rodriguez of “Queer Eye” fame, West Hollywood Mayor John M. Erickson, celebrity DJ Eur-O-Steve, and TV/podcast personality Alexander Rodriguez. The event will feature a performance by Cheer LA during the 3rd inning stretch, adding to the day’s entertainment.
Tickets for the event are priced at $15 for pre-sale and $20 at the door, with all admission funds and sponsorships directly benefiting the Life Group LA. This organization provides crucial support for individuals infected and affected by HIV/AIDS, offering free educational forums, emotional support groups, and the POZ Life Weekend Seminar.
With food offerings from Pink’s Hot Dogs and sweet treats supporting the Fairfax High School’s Alumni Centennial Celebrations and the Gender Sexuality Association (GSA) Student Club, the event promises not only to be a delightful day out but also a chance to contribute to meaningful causes.
