GYM Bar WeHo re-opened today under a new name and new ownership, headed by Erik Braverman and his partner Jonathan Cottrell.

A new “Raising the Bar” banner hung outside the popular watering hole located at 8919 Santa Monica Blvd., formerly known as Gym Sportsbar & Grill West Hollywood, with Cottrell on hand to greet guests. A new menu is in the works, and the venue plans will soon offer lunch options.

Braverman and Cottrell hold an 80% ownership stake in the new venture. The other partners include Jeff Healy, as well as John Manelski and his husband Jordan Brusso, and Justin David.

My roommate used to work at GymBar. At the new location after the Pandamic. All he did was complain about his manager and tell me all kinds of crazy things they would do. He said sketchy things and one day the ones on top would get caught.

I see they did get caught. Because Gymbar was sold and now there’s new owners.

Looks like the wrong doings that went on they got caught.

Rick Schmutzler sold the Bar back in March. I read on a news blog he had legal fees and owed money to the Court on several Judgments. So in order to pay the lawyers and court fines and stuff he had to sell the bar. He was involved in some shifty things that involved investment fraud and money laundering.

Recent statistics show, in the USA, more people are using marijuana than drinking alcohol.

When Rick Schumyster had the bar. Lenny and Jake said that Giovanni Vitulli the bar manager did a bump here and there in the back. And his husband Gary… Giovanni gave free drinks too.

The bars need to close and SMB should be turned into a “high street”, where all residents can shop and create a sense of community. Right now it’s just a street for drunks.

LMAO! Brick and mortar retail clings by its fingernails everywhere, you’re living in the past. People shop online. The bars ARE the community.

John Manelski one of the new GymBar owners knows about Rick Schmutzler involvement in laundering the stolen money Krissy Schuh stole from her investors. He says that Rick Schmutzler worked out a deal with the Court to pay the fines. One is as much as buying a sports car. And he also have to tell the Court his involvement and what Krissy Schuh had been doing. She was stealing the money people were trusting her with as an involvement. He said she had no intention what so ever to give the money back. And she and her Barseen App Business… Read more »
