‘WeHo Loves Locals’ campaign offers great discounts

In an effort to bolster the local economy while enriching community ties, Visit West Hollywood and the City of West Hollywood have unveiled the “WeHo Loves Locals” program.

This initiative aims to benefit both the residents of West Hollywood and local businesses by offering exclusive discounts and promoting a vibrant community spirit.

The program, aptly summarized by its motto, “Live local. Love local. Shop local,” centralizes various special offers available solely to West Hollywood residents. These offers are available at a growing list of participating local businesses, including celebrated eateries such as Rosaline, Gracias Madre, and SUR Restaurant and Lounge, alongside wellness and retail spots like Spa Pendry, Skinpeccable, and Sweat Yoga. These businesses are extending unique discounts and special menu items, adding a layer of exclusivity and appeal to the local consumer base.

Residents eager to explore the benefits can visit www.weholocals.com, where all current offers and participating locations are listed (or scroll to the bottom of this article). Each business participating in the “WeHo Loves Locals” program has autonomy over its verification process for confirming residency, which may include showing an ID or proof of address.

The flexibility of the program allows for continual growth and expansion, with new businesses joining and new offers being added regularly. This dynamic structure ensures that the initiative remains relevant and continues to provide compelling reasons for residents to support their local economy.

Tom Kiely, President and CEO of the West Hollywood Travel & Tourism Board, expressed enthusiasm about the initiative, stating, “We are thrilled to partner with the City of West Hollywood on this important initiative. This program not only provides valuable discounts to our residents but also supports our local businesses, helping to keep our community vibrant and thriving.”

Unfortunately, still too expensive.

What a sad joke. When the majority of residents of Weho are poor people, often living below the poverty line, and very often begging for free stuff from the City, does anyone thing these people can visit these mostly upscale businesses? I still support the idea, but let’s be honest here. Sadly, Fascist Rent Control, as usual, is responsible for every ill in the city.

The average income in West Hollywood is 131k and the median is over 90k.

The majority of residents are not poor. Stop spreading misinformation. You have a lot in common with the scarecrow from Wizard of Oz.

Take a break from cashing rent checks (such hard work) and research actual data.
